I understand the point of the time limit and I think it's great, but what if there was a pause button in the game. Say someone calls me while I'm playing or something, and I just need a little while to get back I don't to accidentally time out and loose the game.
My suggestion would be that one player would click the pause and the other player would have to click his/her pause as well. This would put the board in pause until BOTH player unclick the button. Also the pause would only last a certain amount of time. This way a player can't dupe another into setting the pause and then leave the room for 5 days to get the win. Basically it would just give someone a little more time to go to the bathroom or something. They'd have to communicate a little to accomplish this, but if someone told me they'd brb I'd be willing to keep the game going instead of getting the cheap win.
