I have just returned from seeing Batman Begins.
wow is all i can say. This movie is on par with Spiderman as far as hero movies go. The only thing missing is the Gotham of Tim Burton.. but the new Gotham is still pretty wicked.
Bale is an excellent Wayne. Dark, myterious, yet has the playboy manner of Bruce-y. Another fine batman
Holmes isnt bad as the love interest, but she isnt great either.
Caine as Alfred= best casting ever.
Neeson... oh Liam, you always get cast in these fatherly roles dont you? Maybe because YOU ROCK AT THEM!!!!
Cillian Murphy- I didn't know much about this guy till this movie. He is uber creepy and is also the villian in Red Eye. ooohh hes just so creepy in this
and finally, my secret lover:
Gary Oldman- I love him. No really, I love Gary Oldman. Almost as much as I love Johnny Depp... so I can't find any fault in his portrayal of James Gordon
PLEASE everyone, go see this movie. Unf so good
Oh forgot to say... the ending is perfect. PERFECT... youll see

This is going to be the BEST Batman movie ever. None of the other ones will be able to compare. The new tank Batmobile is the bomb!
I'm seeing it on Saturday.

Well, I hope it repairs the damage done in that "Batman and Robin" movie *ugh*....
But I hear it's based on Frank Miller's Year One story, and based on your review, it looks like a promising start... :)

If you you don't mind my asking, since you haven't seen it, how do you know?
And the first one DOES compare. They are just different styles of movies made with different technologies.

I own the first one, i think I might watch it tonight to refresh my memory.. see how they compare.
As far as Batman and Robin goes.... I think Clooney had the potential to be a great Batman.. he just got cast in an awful movie

Nothing beats the horrible original series.
Anybody remember the episode where Joker thought if he won the US Surfing Championships he'd be able to take over the world. So he stole that surfers abilities and memories with a machine, and challenged Batman to a surf-off. And the Joker did all sorts of tricks, and clearly won, because Batman only got rid of a shark that came near him with shark repellent on his bat-belt. Then they checked the judged scores. I don't remember the exact points. But I think Joker got 5 points for doing the stunts, and no other points. Batman didn't get any for the stunts, but got 1 million for best costume or something like that, so he won.
Nothing can compare to that amazing storyline! :)
I guess I'll have to go see the movie. I'll just have to ask somebody how it ends first. That way, I'm cheering for the winner right from the start.

Yes, that's why I gotta go see it.
Plus Big Daddy Hugh and Hydrant gave it positive reviews.
With sacred and awesome opinions giving the thumbs up, it's a must see.
I just felt I had to enlighten everybody to the greatest Batman episode of all time. It's better than most of the movies. So watch them all and compare.

Definitely, Snorko.
As far as how it ends..

Seriously, back to that Batman episode;
Have you ever seen it? If you're a batman fan, look for the one with the surfing contest.
Ok, good. Now that I know Batman wins, I can get with the winning team right from the start.

I actually have no memory of that episode, though I did watch old reruns of the Batman t.v. show as a kid. It was beautifully bad.

The problem I have with Prequels is when the "old" toys are better than the "newer" toys.

its not a prequel, its a re-doing

It's the story of how he became batman. Since the other movies take place after he was already batman, then it is a prequel.
Actualy, it's Pre everything. Even Batman Year One started with when he had returned to Gothem as Batman already. Taking the story of his 7 years where he became Batman hasn;t been written even in the comics before.
You can't remake that which was never made.

No, but you can do a different version of the story alltogether. I think the big think with this Batman is that he didn't look like a rubber action figure and actually represented the character depicted in the comic books rather than being softened up for a younger audience.
My friends went but didn't invite me... suck it friends.
Funny thing is I was already at the theatre seeing a different movie at the same time. Oh well.
See it I shall. Promising you have made it sound.

I haven't even seen the new Star Wars! Looks like I'll be living in the movie theater tomorrow...
Oh, and just one of my reviews:
Mr. and Mrs. Smith was so-so. Parts of it were funny, but the ending was very cliche. I liked it, but I would have preferred to see a different movie.
Madagascar...I saw that with my little cousin. Unless you feel like losing 500 brain cells to a zebra and a penguin, don't see it.
The Longest Yard was funny. It was good for a re-make too, I laughed through most of it.
/kabump
I finally saw this movie today, and I must say, it FREAKING ROCKS. Excellent cast, storyline, action scenes, dialogue; everything about this movie had me going.
I found Mr. and Mrs. Smith to be a pretty good movie... but after seeing B.B. basically every other movie I've seen recently was majorly trumped.

Also, it's not a prequel. The Joker is already around in this movie by the end of it. In the original Batman, the Joker was created when batman was already around.

Regardless of whether is was a prequel or not, I thought it was sweet. I saw it last night. A masterpiece. I want some of the fear junk just to spray at myself. That would be so insane.
Yeah, that stuff was mad crazy. Reminded me of Slipknot...

I saw Batman last weekend, but i forgot to type my review.
*ahem*
A KICK-ASS MOVIE!!!
The mask 'scarecrow' used was freaky. My little brother cried and wet his pants, so I had to lead him out of the cinema and into the bathroom. I missed around 10 minutes of the movie, and the popcorn went cold. The batmobile was pretty slick. I liked the police chase on it. The ending was cool since it left me wanting more.
Does anyone know if there is going to be another Batman movie?

If you and Big Pappa Hugh teamed up, you'd be an upstoppable force. You'd be the toast of hollywood movie reviewers.

Now that we have a DVD player "cable is still a novelty to us, so yes, a DVD player is a thrill) I don't go to movies much.
But it's summer, and my friend and I often go to the movies just for the A/C, so... yeah, not sure why I'm posting.
G'night folks.

seen it, loved it, think they should redo the others (well, okay, batman and robin and batman forever need to be redone, the first 2 are okay, though iwouldn't mind seeing them remade too)
