Ok,today i was bored so i thaught up a theory.This is an example of a good TAO player carrer is like.


Stage 1:Find out about TAO,Play TAO as a newb.
Stage 2:Get very good with a grey account,it keeps getting funner.
Stage 3:Starting to get boring,to many newbs.
Stage 4:Get a gold account,become a newb gold,your a newb again.
Stage 5:Jump greys till your comftable to play other golds.
Stage 6:Get good with one setup,Turtle for example,get to 1300 stats or so.
Stage 7:Try out other sets,like rushes and anti's,get to 1500 stats.
Stage 8:Getting good with all setups,become a real good tao player,bust out 1600 stats.
Stage 9:Chosing your fights wisely,to keep your stats up high,Become in top 10 and so on.


Ok,i know,i know,i was bored but w/e,its a theory.Thats basically what i did,and Maybe you guys can come up with another,so post it and comment. :D

people in stage 8 shouldent have to chose fights wisely unless they cheated to get there, im stage 7 setup wise, but only 5 stat wise

Cause when ur a noob gold,your afraid to fight the other good golds,well i was anyways.So it basically builds up ur confidence,cause golds have natually better units bealive it or not,so its easier to beat greys.

Practice.

You play weaker opponents in order to train and get stronger, and if you can't find weaker golds, you are probably fighting greys. :)

Against a weaker opponent, you can make more mistakes that they won't take advantage of, so you won't learn from them.

A good player will dominate you, but you will learn from every mistake you make(if you aren't an idiot).

I'm at stage 2. But I was wondering if there could be a stage 1.5, where the grey's just happy to stay grey and TAO isn't boring? I mean, I'll probably get bored pretty soon, but that pretty soon could be anything around 2 more years or just 3 months, and it's not really fair to lump us into stage 1.

The grey game never gets boring, the idea of improving it with a gold account is what gets you. The final stage however is losing all intrest in the gold game, and enjoying grey even more because you know it still has purity like the gold game used to.

Ok,i reedited it,now the stage 2 is better for the greys.

im about the same skill level with any style of settup in the game but the highest ive ever gotten was 1450's and like ranked 19th i think so im stage 8 settup wise and in my peak i was almost stat wise but now stat wise im only stage 6. and yes when i was new to gold i sat in the lobby and waited for whoever wanted to play me play me and thats how i learned about gold strategy so playing greys at first helps but if its all you do then your stuck there.
