People sometimes forget this is a game, and act far too serious. I do not stand for double standards, considering posts by SIers was just spam, and people were hounding on a couple non-SIers for posting things that weren't spam. SI in the hizzouse! Wassup fellas? Still trying to run all the no-SIers away from the thread? I just got back from the beach, sunburnt and tired. Went flounder fishing this weekend, caught about half a dozen flounder. One was about 20 inches long (they have to be 12 inches to keep). It was 92 and sunny at the beach, and then it rained all day here as soon as I get back home. Either way, summer is just around the corner, and all I'll be doing is fishing and tanning :bigsmile:

I can top that. Once my mom forgot to pick me up so she went to sleep and i had to wait 3 hours and once my sister also forgot to pick up and drove halfway home before remembering and turned back and she has picked me up 4 days a week for 4 years!!!

Also once i was in a bus that as it drove out HIT A FENCE, saw a bus near me on the road break down and had to be towed and another bus just drove right past me when i wanted to get on. i mean wtf.

Umm, here's a question. I was in a gray game on GL with this guy. For those of you that don't know, I use a gray, no-drop spread almost all the time. He had a semi-standard turtle, chanty/bw variety. He immediately focused on defense, so I knight rished. I got to his backline, and began to inch towards his chanty/cleric/witch, taking his scout in the process. I had my normal back-up of scout and assassin waiting outside his lw range, but inside of mine. I quickly eliminated all of his ranged attackers, and killed his cleric. He froze in a futile attempt, and my scout was advancing to stop that. At this point, he hadn't killed a single unit. He said gg, then asked for a rematch.

I declined, for several reasons. First, he had gotten rather lucky in the game, and I felt fortunate that I had played as well as I had, or those blocks would have really hurt me. Second, I rarely rematch opponents, because I play for the element of surprise. In both gold and gray, I use the same formation consistently, and try and perfect the startegy by playing lots of different people. If I play someone enough, they tend to catch on to my strategies. I, however, have played long enough to have encountered almost every type of form and strategy out there, so I am rarely "surprised". I normally lose to a superior formation, or superioir luck, occasionally to superior play. It has been a year since I played a gray that I thought was better than me, Juggernaut, and I actually won that game with a lucky block.

So this guy seems irritated that I wouldn't rematch him, almost to the point that he thought I was scared to play him, although he never insulted me in such a manner. He was respectful, but quite upset that I wouldn't rematch. I mean, the guy got lucky, and I flawlessed him. The way I see it, the only thing I have to gain from another game is stats, because he is no real challenge, besides the blocking. He is a 1000+ player, but plays very defensively, never a good thing against me. I told him that I was probably top 5 as far as pentrating a gray turtle, and I thought that was being humble. If you sit there, you will lose, or you'll get lucky enough to push me back, then I'll try again.

Do you think any of the above statements are outrageous, bogus, or utterly repulsive? I thought I was justified in my reasons for declining the rematch, and in my beliefs in my own skill.

Seriously quick rematches are not something I do either. I wait a few minutes, hours or days. Not even for the luck factor.. but just the idea is in your head.. you already one.. You will repeat certain moves over again.. not even on purpose.. but just out of habit. And if you win again.. the player will want yet another rematch..

I have had a history of playing greys.. long games. and then they ask for a rematch.. say same floor.. and then.. surprise surprise I come back to someone with the perfect counter to my set-up (they still normally lose ;)) or a gold jumps me.. Am I to assume its someone else or the same guy no on his gold?

Rematches are something I don't refuse outright but say "not right now." or "That game really took some thought, I'm gonna grab a beer and brb" If they are willing to wait. I'll play.. I have played several ppl over and over again. Its fun and you get to know them. Its also how recruiting use to work.

The counter-form thing never really crossed my mind, the guy just didn't seem like the type, but it's still a good point. I just find it boring to play the same guy again, if I know he can't beat me (barring crazy cirumstances). I look for challenges. I tend to play the people I know 3 or 4 times in a row. Wack-head and I used to do this, and they were some of the best games ever.

Are you a bunch of princesses? For me it's hard enough to find a good grey game that if I find someone remotely good I'll rematch no problem. In fact I always have to play like 20 crappy greys before I get a half decent one. Then what happens is I play like crap cause I want to get it over with and hope to find a good player. I make way too risky moves, realize the guy is actually pretty good but by then it's too late and I lose. After that, 95% of the time, I don't see the guy ever again and I know very well I could have beat him easily.

They no speaka da english good but they all seem to play a damn fine game. Makes me miss CHRISSCORP.. Granted none of the greys I have played.. have ever had the game that haywood jablowme brought to the table. By far the best grey I have ever played.
