||||| Wolverine : Just as from X-men, this guy would have 2 sets of double blades. I was thinking he could be a counterpart to the assassin.

Hit Points: 40
Power: 20
Movement range: 3
Recovery: 2
Blocking: 60%

Attack Pattern:
Slashes enemy unit twice, one time with each claw. However, the enemy unit has an opportunity to block both the first and second time. Thus, wolverine would be most effective when attacking someone directly behind.

|||||Transporter : a portal that teleports a unit to any of his other units on the board. I haven't come up with any shape...

Hit Points: 50
Power: none
Movement range: none
Recovery: 4
Blocking: 100%

Purpose:
The player will have to walk one of his units into the transporter. Red boxes of length 3 tiles will surround every one of his units on the board. The guy can then click to teleport the unit anywhere on the board where he has already positioned units.
The catch to the transporter is that the player can only teleport a unit to end up next to his other units (so he must first scatter his units or send a unit into enemy territory). Thus, the transporter could be used to deal the final blow to a cleric or witch.

|||||Mystic: Somewhat like the frost Golem.

Hit Points: 35
Movement Range: 3
Recovery: 3

Attack Pattern:
Can cast a hypnotic spell onto any human unit within 3 tiles of the Mystic as long as she maintains focus. Once an enemy unit is hypnotized, the player can then use it as one of his own units until Mystic loses focus/gets killed. Similar in stature to the enchantress. However, the spell can be cast only to control one unit at a time, just like the frost Golem.

Wolverine: Is each attack at 20 power? If so, that's ridiculous. Also, when an opponent blocks an attack, they change direction to face the attacker. Thus, if a unit were to block a Wolverine's first attack, would it then have a greater chance to block the second attack? Or would it use the same block % for each attack, regardless of whether it blocked the first?

Oh, and you should change the name; copyright problems would ensue.

Transporter: Too different to know if it's overpowered; I'd have to play with it. Sorry.

Mystic: While I'd have to play with it to be positive, I'm pretty sure it's too powerful. I mean, not only depriving your opponent of one of his units, but also giving yourself another? Plus, you could send a hypnotized enemy way deep into enemy territory, because if your opponent kills it, you really aren't at a loss, since it was their unit to begin with.

yea my bad with wolverine, i meant power of 12 for each hit, total 24. And yes, when the enemy blocks wolverine, it will have a much greater chance the second time wolverine slashes at him. This would be a draw back to the unit which would dissuade the player from attacking a knight on its side. This limitation on wolverine would make him less dangerous as he sounds, since the player would have to waste 2 turns to move behind a knight and then attack. Or if the limitation makes him too weak, he could move with 4 tile units like the assassin.

As for Mystic. I agree it is too powerfull...but many players in tactics pursue a certain character, the one they feel is most dangerous or easiest to kill. Currently, the witch and the cleric are the 2 units most ppl try to kill immediately. Mystic will be a third unit on the most wanted dead list. Thus, the player using mystic would be forced to protect mystic by leaving her behind protection or back near the cleric. Mystic also wouldn't be of any use early in a game, since the archers and witches are still around with their good range to remove her focus. And although I agree it is kind of cheap to control an enemy unit, the player has to, to some degree, also sacrifice mystic by sticking her out in the battlefield frozen for 3 turns with 0 block capability and not alot of hit points.

--thanks for the reply/critique=P

...are we limited to medieval/fantasy units?

just an idea, since mystik = puppet master that i posted: make the unit under control loose the spell if its hit
make portal range 1 tile
