it is pretty common that "shit" and "fuck" are considered to be the two "worst" words.

when movies are being rated, just 1 of those words in the movie will get you an R rating

If you hang out in the sewers, and meet the best looking mutant, sure it's the best looking. But it's still a mutant.
If it's a Ninja Turtle, or a Fighting Frog(is that where they were?), or a Ninja Rat, that's socially acceptable as well as totally awesome.
