Well, I think I am getting pretty good as a gold.
Frylock was sitting on floor one waiting for someone to jump him. So I jump him.
Frylocks setup: Anti
My setup: Rush
I did not take a s/s of the beggining of the game because I thought he would PWN me for sure. Anyways, I play the game, and get a couple of lucky blocks. Towards the end of the game it comes down to:
Frylock: 2knights, low health, frosty, and cleric
Me: 2scouts, 1- 40hp, 1- 20hp, Full Dragon, 1 Full Knight, 1 33hp knight.
Here is the end result:
http://img95.echo.cx/img95/5484/frylock9kp.jpg
After he left the arena, I go back to the lobby. I say " gg fry" he replys "no it wasn't, if the luck would have been equal, then it might have"
But isn't luck 50% of the game?

I get quite ticked when I lose only because of luck, especially when I out play the other guy. Though I understand where Fry's coming from, it's always nice to say "gg."
Also, Luck is 90% of the game, and the other 10% is Formation.

*yawn*
Welp, he's got the right to post it here, he did win. It'd have been nice if luck was 50% of the game, but when my guys don't tally a block the entire game, then it's much more than 50%.
Also note - he refused my challenge for a rematch with the exact same sets.
But hey, I think my signature used to say "You know you've made it when people brag about beating you."

Win or not, I still don't like the arrogance displayed by the poster of this thread. Apparently luck was most of the match, as both parties agreed, and claiming that you're better than someone (i.e. Me vs. Frylock=Me) is unnecessary.

Please do not say something that never happened. You said "If we played again, it would be different" I never refused a challange since no challange was made.

I never said I was better than him. I was just pointing out that I beat him in the game between us. Please do not twist the words around.
Oh, and Fry, the only reason I posted this is because you are such a great player and I was proud of my self for beating you.

Yeah the thread title isn't cool. Even if A can *consistently* beat B (not in evidence in this case), it would still be in poor taste to post something like A >> B or something.
Yes... I've played a number of a games recently, mind you a NUMBER (not a low one either), decided entirely by luck.

so skeptical... more like 40% luck, 30%formation, and 30% skill...
anyway, we have very different views on what "gg" means... I, for one, will never say gg unless I actually mean it... and if I truly did enjoy the game, then I'd think highly enough of it to type out the whole thing ("great game")... if not, I'd rather not be patronizing or have anyone else patronize me.

I got a gg in the tourney today, ^_^...even tho I sould of thought my moves out, instead of going full force, but these things happens, ^_^...back to subject.for me it goes 10% luck for me, 40% form and 50% skill.
some people get alot of luc,k and some dont, seems to me fry didnt have much luck, and also, not playing fryman after he asked you for a rematch shows how much luck you had, and how scared of him you are ^_^.

And got no response. However, you continued talking in the lobby. Since I hadn't played anyone else in the meantime, it could have only meant you.
Don't lie about it dude. It's ok. Game's over and you won...however it happened. Next time, just accept the rematch and use a better thread title. Although, I rather doubt that this will ever happen again. ;)

Dang fry, Why do you insist on not being polite to someone, who that is all they ask. Could be he didn't see that you typed "play again", and seeing how things can be missed, or unnoticed. He said the game was luck and the reason he posted it was to Get some, "Woah, nice win." or "Good job fry is a beast"
Elemental did nothing wrong yet, you act like he did your mom.
CRX, saying gg is like shaking hands with an opposing team after a game, It is sportsmanship, If you don't you look like a cocky SOB, who has a real attitude problem. gg to me has always meant good game, and I do believe it has to many others. If infact you do say great game, there is something different there, and I see where you are coming from, but If I don't here gg, or something of that effect I find it rude.
And on the matter of percentages I think 20% is luck 30% formation 10% first turn and %40 skill, because as we know knight front hits happen alot.

I don't do that unless it was truly deserved either... one thing I really hate in life is all these "good sportsmanship" things that people do whether they mean it or not, to the point that they really don't mean anything anymore... my actions and my words will be reserved for times when they are truly warranted.

I say gg out of respect of the other player. If they don't say gg back, i find they have an attitude problem wich should be fixed.
I did not see that he said "rematch". If he did, i would have replyed to him, with either "sure" or "nah, its ok." But even if i did see that he said rematch and i did not answer, and would not have lied about it on the forums.

Alot of people ask me why I don't say "gg", I do however say "thx for the game".
saying gg to someone whose played so many is literally that, a gg is not good game to me, it's "great game".
Great games take time and effort though :p. Something I don't feel like doing.

Here's how the game breaks down:
Strategy: 25%
Tactics: 40%
Skill: 25%
Luck: 10%
Effort/Caring/Patience: 50%
Now here's how people win without Strat, Patience and Tactics:
n00b luck: 94.56%
Skill: 3.44%
Effort: 2%

Strategy: 25%

Effort/Caring/Patience: 50%
well that is 150 %
And the N00b's could be way better than the old schooler's just because they started the game a week or two weeks ago does not mean that they don't know how to play, nor that they are bad players and won by luck, I hate it when we give the excuse of N00B luck no they beat us fairly they out played us and won now if they do not want to play us again or rematch then that is on thier part and we should not be upset about it. And rem at some point ALL OF US WERE N00BS.

Funny thing about this is that when this guy loses 5 games with a combined 3 blocks in them all while his opponents get double digit blocks each game, well he will be singing a different tune. Keep in mind my example is also based with having 3 knights on the field. There is simply no excuse for getting one knight block at the end of the game when it is your last surviving unit. Much less having it happen 5 to 6 games in a row.
I say gg no matter how the opponent plays. However if luck screws them, I apologize and offer a draw or a rematch if that is what they prefer. I prefer a rematch offer when I am on the shit end (which is what has happened a lot lately lost close to 100 points in a 2 week period. 2 legitimate losses 5 luck losses) and wont accept the draw. However it shows a lot when your opponent offers it.
Yeah yeah yeah, there is nowhere that it states you have to do so. However the offer is what separates the players that are here for fun from those that are here for stats. Those here for stats are usually the ones that are identified by the "hahahahaha" or ":P" or "dont blame me luck sucks for you" comments all game while they catch every break and you can only stand by and watch luck give them the win. My personal favorite is the TAO Angel idiot that waited until I had 1 unit left, 1 block for the game while his units were blocking machines and he says "SURRENDER I WANT YOUR POINTS". Yeah good attitude. Too bad he didn't say shit when I rolled his ass after jumping him for my rematch.

roody all of TAO ANGELS are that way can not blame them but then again do you see that clan anywhere anymore, No because thier leader went and joined another clan and that was expected from them.
As far as offering the draw, not everyone does it these days only two people i ever seen do it is you, Bullcat0, and Night. i Hold respect for you guys over anyone else on Army.

My example was not to point out the Angels clan, we all knew they were just like WaCk (a one minute man). It was just an example of overall "win by luck" attitude.
I dunno, its just odd to me b/c I remember back when the players overall were more sportsmanlike and we were all against losing to luck. Now the lot of stat whores just makes the entire thing comical but at the same time a complete waste of my time.

Frylock is indeed a poor sport, but so am I. Meh. When we battled I was beating him throughout the whole game and the last move I had an easy victory if I would move my scout behind his knight. Unfortunately him and I were talking so much I wasn't paying attention and went straight for the shot, so then he blocked and next turn killed my scout. However he refuses to admit it was that close and says I was a poorsport about it when I indeed said Good game and never blamed anything on luck!

My bad man, sorry. Congrats on winning. Beating fry is always an accomplishment *points to sig* obviously.
However maybe you would get a better reaction if you weren't gloating over a match that was so lopsided in luck. I mean if some scrub beat you and bragged about it on a thread when you both know that you in all probability should have won, would you expect sympathy for the scrub? My point in many of my posts lately is yeah anyone can be a "sore" loser from time to time, however how many of you all out there are really "good" winners either? "Good" winners include offers for a draw or at the very least a rematch same sets. Unfortunately after spending all game with most of the luckers out there, their response to my request for a rematch since they are so obviously not offering is "uh, uh, I got to go."
Im not flaming or hating on you, I'm just making a point that being a "good" winner will grab you much more attention than being a "poor" winner.
I mean look at Dr Love. He wanted to post pic after pic of his wins over NJ members but we had to dog him until he finally started posting loses as well. ;)

i think luck is 15% of the game, formation is 25% and skill is 60%
people have a tendency to say games are decided by luck.they rarely are. unless an extremely unlucky block cost you either your cleric or scout, you most likely didnt lose by luck.
