View Full Version : Me vs. Jaen (Legends)

My friend X_slayer_X left me his Legends account Crimson_Warrior about 7 months ago when he left, and I have been using it commonly.

I go to Legends, put my avatar down on FL1, hoping for a decent challenge. Jaen jumps me, with a stack of 1632 stats. He rushes my power-turtle. Most of the beginning he put his scout in a threatening position to attack my cleric after his ambusher attacked, while he tries to do that he occupies me with his mud and dragon, I kill his mud quickly, and then destroy the ambusher and sacrificing my wisp so he didn't get my cleric so quickly. My scout was the only thing blocking my 4 HP cleric from an open LOS shot, so I kept it there for a while until I sent my dragon to roast it down to 14 HP. He comes closer in, shooting my frost golem, and then roasting my frost golem (because my frost and stonie were the only things protecting my cleric). His next scout move is that he breaks the focus on my stonie, and then the game swiftly changes.

I had a tough time killing his scout, considering he had 2 clerics. But eventually I killed it, after leaving an open spot for his dragon to burst my cleric the next turn. I stone my scout and cleric, he comes and attacks my cleric leaving it at 4 HP with no way out. He brings in his knight (out of 3 knights) to kill my mud golem, then I burn/slice/archer his knight, after 2 heals, I repeat and kill it. After those 3 turns he got my cleric, and tryed retreating. I made the mistake of freezing the dragon after only covering it with my beast rider, he kills my frost golem. I try to rip apart his 2nd knight while his knight and dragon kill my beast rider, then I kill his knight.

So far it's like this. Me: Knight, stonie, scout, dragon. Him: Knight, dragon, 2 clerics.

He got my dragon to dangerously low HP, and then he kills it, and I kill his dragon too. Now it's Me: Scout, Knight, Stone. Him: 2 clerics, knight. I try my best to take shots at the back of his knight, and when I try to slice his knight with my knight he blocks 3 times from the side, being able to heal numerous times. He comes after my scout, kills it with 2 front hits, then he takes out my stonie. While he does that, I go after his 2 clerics and destroy them both after they heal him to 31 HP. Now it's knight vs. knight. I have to only hit his knight twice for the win. But here comes bad luck (as always...). He blocks 3 of my side hits (making 6 side blocks). I only hit him once, he has a 14 HP knight, I have a 16 HP knight. The next hit determines the fight. He comes up to the front of my knight, and hits it. He wins.

I would've been proud of this game if he didn't make stupid comments, such as 'go noob go'; 'no noob run', and so on.

But how does this make sense? A 1600 gold rushes a 1100 gold turtler and wins out of shear luck? Where is the skill? Did he cheat for his stats? Or just get lucky with his games?

I'm not impressed with Legends' golds anymore, I miss the ones with skill, like Wayfaerer, Waittz, ~~7~~, etc.

hmm, old Slayer, gotta miss him, anyway, looks like a solid game, and people who think they are losing (or really really winning) tend to make comments like that, dont let them bother you

Don't overgeneralize, please. How many times have you played Jaen, OmegaShin, etc.? Play Jaen 7 times at least, before you start generalizing about a player. Not that I'm a Jaen defender; I'm on neutral terms with him. It's unlike him to jeer an opponent that much, but I'm not going to call you a liar, either.

Also, I'm 1600 (finally reached it tonight) and still sometimes make idiotic mistakes, some of which cost me the game. I am human and get tired and have missed easy LOS shots because I wasn't thinking straight and wanted to rush a game to get to the next one. I doubt that I'm alone in this. Heck, I was 1595 before making a boneheaded move on a 1200+ player and losing, dropping me to 1581 last night, because I was in a rush to get to 1600 and wanted to speed up the game, barely losing it in the process.

This post is like the other guy posting a win over Frylock. Fry is human and sometimes doesn't play up to par or has bad luck or whatever. But unless you can consistently beat a top player, I'd keep quiet about an isolated win or two.

P.S. Cheaters are at FPS too. Duh.

Well to begin with, your stats are 1442, not 1100. And Jaen is an excellent player, you must be ticked because he got away with calling you a nub or something.

Thanks for the comment though, that was cool

What the f***, mate?! He's not! I played him two times, owned him in both games! Our first game, I won by 7 units in a rush game. He plain sucks.

IDK what wuffers is on... but Jean's not that good... I've pwned him at least 4 times on various greys...

But nevertheless, he was on the netcave hitlist for a while, and is still an above average player...

Good job I guess...

I was on neutral terms with him until him calling me a noob consistantly. I was going to say gg if he was a bit more respectful.

Everyone makes idiotic mistakes, but this guy didn't make as many mistakes as he did get lucky.

But unless you can consistently beat a top player, I'd keep quiet about an isolated win or two. This is why I barely post these kinds of wins. I never even get close to many high-ranked players. FryLock is a high-ranked player and if he gets beaten, let the person be happy. We all know FryLock is a great player, so if we beat someone like him, you should be happy knowing you beat someone with skill. But I would'nt push it as far as to inflate my ego a lot. High-ranked players should mean they have skill and put an effort into getting their ranking that high. I would respect Jaen more if he didn't jump a grey after our fight.

P.S. Cheaters are at FPS too. Duh.When did I say there weren't cheaters on FPS?

I think there should be a sub forum for battle reports to flame legends, that would be so swell.

Omega is on another level, I was naming some of the top-rated players, that's all.

Right on man, I didn't know that people still remembered me (~~7~~). I took a hiatus for a long while and recently came somewhat back into action. I actually prefer to play here when I have time, which isn't very often at all, but I think the server skill level argument is a joke. I think it has alot more to do with the individual than the server he/she plays on.

As for Jaen, good job, he's a skilled player but not on the same level as Shin or quite a few others.

Why do people assume that skilled players cheat? For instance, Fred
(Name changed so actual players do not feel neglected :) ) who represents multiple players, frequently asked me "Forest why you say 'no dsm' or 'golem ambusher' yo scared or somethin." That isn't cheating. People need to know what cheaating is. The reason I ask "no dsm or GA?" is because I feel that TAO has become rather cheap with the select few new units.

Cheating means having another player beating people on your account so you can be in the Top 100 or whatnot.

Cheating can also mean jumping people when they specified a game with another person.

Cheating can also mean someone playing another person with a bomb or rush when it was indicated that a rush or bomb was not the acceptable game type.

People get to 1600 or 1700 by skill, most likely. A 1100 can beat a 20000000000000000. Wow that sounded noobish, but still.
