View Full Version : Terrain Editing Units

Kinda in the same area as my previous post on terrain... to further simplify, why not create a unit that can change the type of terrain in an area? For example, have a mage of some sort that uses the same distance/area effect type spell that the pyromancer does. All the terrain in that attack area would take twice as much time to move through, or would damage any units in the area every turn (much like a 'poison' effect in most RPGs). This unit could also be in ward form, with a limited range of influence (just a tad bigger than that of the lightning ward?) Feel free to post any stats or whatever for the unit... just give me the credit, I need some credit... (if this hasn't been posted in days long gone).

Sounds kinda cool! But what wouldthe terrain look like would it allways be diferent or the same!!

Well... to save the developers from shutting down the game to work on it or introducing a new client to add floor textures... it might just be highlighted in a color, or have the drop shadow effect that the enchantress' paralyzation attack does, just in differing colors.

well u say there would be a field bonus 4 each character linked to that field? so like if thir was a volcano turain, dragon tyrant and pymancer would become more powerful rite? well hoe much more powerful? and ho long dose it last 4? also, keep in mind that u should make it have a disadvantage such as since it became a volcano teraine that frost golem should lose power

I think that the terrain is a very good idea...but it does pose a problem with the troop limit in your settings...there are simply hunderds of different types of terrain, and the people who design the game would be at a terrable disadvantage not to mention the fact that they would have to make on for each terrain...but it is a killer idea though

The terrain unit is a really cool idea but instead of it looking like a pyromancer maybe it should be the start of a new class of units called elementals. I know that would probably be hard for the game designers to do but a new cool looking unit would have a big impact on all the players.
