It's pretty obvious that no one would fall for a scam this stupid but for those just silly enough to buy it:
Recently a user name on Legends named "DIEAGO" has been advertising that he is selling poison wisps for 25 cents, and you can get the wisp at www.poisonwisp.tk(Don't actually click on the link).
This will then prompt a screen that asks for you're name, email and paypal account. If you fill it in, it will send you to a altavista site that will send a password cracker as a trojan to you're computer and steal you're credit card number.
Of course this is on legends, some players here do have legends accounts so just be on the look out for anyone "advertising" which is obviously a scam.
Keep it real!

But things like this are stupid. I hope the guy who did it gets his due, since Paypal and Altervista (Italian AltaVista) both were shown his site.

Yeah thanks for reporting it to the company.
On a plus, this is the first time ever that someone has tried a credit card scam of this preporting, so I guess all things considered, it was an isolated incident.

Generally "scammmers," as you called them, are not interested in something with such a small customer base. I've been friends with a few and mostly email is the way they go. I think that most likely this was someone involved in TAO that decided to be an idiot.

Forgive me for directly challenging that post, but their are over 19k of gold's on Legends. and if you count half as mail payments, and half as paypal, thats around 9.5k of accounts that have credit cards, and generally speaking, their are a couple of dumbasses around to give up their personal info to a scam such as this. But you are also right, TAO doesn't come close to some places commercially or retailely.

If I was a spammer, probably about 1 in every 1,000, so about 1,000 credit cards. However, even owning the list of credit cards will get you 6-10 years.
