that the wipe is a good idea because servers get full of grey accounts, and to force the players to get a gold account

Not true. It does have that as a bonus, but the purpose of the wipe is primarily to prevent excessively laggy servers caused by 100,000+ accounts. Or would you prefer the servers to take 30 seconds to respond to each click you make?
