It has become clear to me that for me to join a clan, which I have had some arguments with, I must revoke somethings I said, and also talk about me being different than the never play anyone terps.

Frylock, I now realize I was what I come to hate. A person who wastes lobby space, and won't accept games. I now accept most games thrown at me, but anytime unit restrictions come into play I can be a bit hesistant, even though I am trying to learn to turtle. I know you don't like me now, but If given the opportunity I think I can gain your approval. You are the highest rated player on the REAL Tactics Arena. I can't say much about your skill for I have not gotten to play you thanks to my noobish behavior. :o I hope I can make this up to you and we can have a good friendship.

CRX, You basically had the same problem with me, that Frylock did. You didn't like because I was noobish, and wasted space in the lobby never playing a game I might lose at. Like I said I do not feel this way any more, but just try and have fun, take advice, and become a better player and person.

Pixel, We definately started off on the wrong foot. Our first encounter came at the mention of Tom Cruise movies. You liked one of the movies that I think has the worst storyline of any movie I have seen at the big screen. You also hated on Last Samurai, which was one of the most moving movies I had seen for sometime. Right up there with The Life of David Gale. I hope we can move past this for I feel this can be a dumb reason to hold a grudge, I fully apologize for Negging, It just stunned me to see your attitude toward those movies.

Twelve, last and least, I think you just listened to what they did not like about me and agreed based on what you saw. I am not saying that you saw anything that was untrue, for it definately was, but that is not me anymore, and I am trying to better myself as a person in real life, as well as in this community.

On this final note, I would like to say, It would be an honor to be able to join the best TAO players. Netjak, Has an average age of probally a couple years over mine, but I hope that I can mature as a person, and act those few years older. Netjak has a nasty reputation in the game, and I want to strike fear, into other player's eyes. I feel this is the best way to do that, while also having a fun time doing it.

I told OMK a long time ago that I'd report any misbehavings in Netjak members if he'd do the same for me with BG members.

Earlier today SpLiFF challenged one of my leaders, Daemon Bloodmaw (formerly Morgan Warpath/Berzerker) to a game. They both agreed to a turtle game with no Golem Ambushers. When they got in the game, Daemon had a turtle; but SpLiff had a rush along with a Golem Ambusher.

I know this doesn't violate any rules of the game, but in the eyes of many it's extremely dishonorable, and generally a wimpy action. All a cheap way of getting points. If one of my members ever did this to a Netjakker, they would get one hell of a punishment. Don't think I'm angry because he stole Daemon's points... Because Daemon managed to beat SpLiFF. I made it clear to my clan to not let this one player's dishonorable actions change their opinions on Netjak, and that these weren't Netjak standards. So none of them are going to be displaying any prejudice towards any of you.

I know Netjak doesn't stand for people who try to obtain rating through these means, and I hope disciplinary actions are taking. Thanks for reading.

He used a GA rush and I used my antirush since it was a no GA freestyle match. Regardless of that fact he did indeed lose, although it was close.

However, Spliff did use a GA rush against Dragoen Link in an agreed turtles match immediately after my own match with Spliff and won.

DL asked for a turtle game beforehand, and SpLiFF agreed, then showing up with a full-fledged rush, Cleric-kill and all (and let's not forget that precious GA).

OMK, I agree with what you said. I don't like prearranged matches. It's just setting it up so it's easier for you to win. A cheap way out.

But that's what SpLiFF did, only more dishonorable. He set it up, then went against it to assure that he had the unfair advantage. He set it up in a cheap way so that he would win. Instead of earn the points, he tricked the opponents into setting up one way so he could counter it.

"Luck" will always be a factor, especially in a tightly contested game where one "lucky" hit will decide the victor. In turtle there is more oppurtunity for "Luck" to be countered and outstrategized.

I've heard this perspective from a lot of people, and it's a totally valid point. However, I personally prefer turtle matches not because I want a higher chance of winning, but because I am against certain units that have been created, and playing turtle games reduces that factor.

For example: Let's say tomorrow Bills introduced a unit that was completely and totally a counter to defensive knight strategies. If you ever tried using knights in a defensive way, such as using them as a wall or to block attacks, this unit would totally destroy you, with minimal assistance, in a similar fashion to the way an ambusher will destroy any defensive player with a little backup. Some say "Well, if we both have access to it, it's fair". This isn't true. If I built my entire TAO playing style around defensive knights, it ISN'T fair to me. This isn't TAO adapting and changing ,this is it being harshly shunted towards one end, which favors some players and destroys others, forcing conformity.
At this point, the players who are on the bad end of this deal are forced to either conform and, for the most part, start over, learning the new style of TAO, or they can start creating prearranged matches that either do not allow this new unit, or find a type of match during which this unit loses its effectiveness. If these players also feel that games without knight defenses really suck, then the latter is obviously a much more favorable choice.

When it comes down to it, I have nothing against freestyle-only players, or rushers, but I simply prefer turtle games. I've lost only one turtle game to date because of extreme extreme luck (speak of the devil! it was to spliff :p. He ran his scout into my area to try and take out important units, and managed to get about 5 out of 6 side blocks, allowing him to massacre me and keep the scout. I still only lost by like 1 piece, despite this), and I've only truly won one game simply because of luck too (Sorry Blazedaces, we both know you should've had that one). Meanwhile, I've lost an inconceivable number of freestyle games due to large unbalances (probably not a word, but whatever) in luck, and many other games were a lot tougher than they should've been because of this factor.
Freestyle games aren't totally based on luck, but it plays a huge role. I don't like this, so I stick to turtling. I respect those who freestyle, but it's not my preference, as a player. You can be opposed to prearranged matches, but you can't deny their merit.

Not to completely change the direction of this thread, but -

As some of you may know, I have decided to take my leave after our little tournament winds down. The game holds no fun for me, in any way, shape or form, so I know it is time to move on.

I can't begin to describe how much netjak means, and has meant to me. Certain members are like family, like brothers. I never thought it would be this way. I never thought I'd feel such a connection to online people who I've never met, and probably will never meet.

I have been honored to carry the netjak flag with my name. I've been with this clan for at least 75% of my TAO time, and there has not been a moment of regret. I've been lucky enough to be one of the leaders of the best server of the best clan. Banff will always be my home, and you 'jaks who play there will always have a special place in my mind.

However, netjak is bigger than Banff. In my time here, I've seen us expand into and dominate both GL and Army. This clan is extraordinary. It has great players, but more importantly, it has great people. That is something that NO other clan can boast.

I know that netjak will continue on, strong as ever after my departure. I look forward to checking in every now and then to meet the new faces and see what's up.

And, this is not goodbye, not quite yet. There are still a few games to play and a war to win.

I shall miss you all. Don't lose sight of the netjak meaning, guys. Great players, great games, great honor.

Well, It is great to here that I have been accepted into the clan, I would have responded yesterday, but I flipped my mom the bird, and she went all nuts and took the cable modem to work, so I could not quite access the internet...

As for some of the events in my absence. OMK I so strongly agree with what you said about pre-arranged matches. I have been trying to say this to people, but when I don't play by their rules, they say I have no skill, and can't play another way ;) . Turtles I find different from this because turtles are almost a completely different game. But there are those, such as Daemon Bloodmaw and Chair_reloaded, who only play games by their rules. Daemon says no GA, and no bombs. Because those are the two things he can not defend against. Chair says no GA, No DSM, and even heard him say no frosty. I can not tell you how much I want to just screw them over, but as of late I have been trying to pull this reputation of mine out of the gutter, so I play to their level, sometimes with no avail.

As for spliff, It is quite dissappointing to see him go, over something like this, but I guess it was right. As for where he might go, I could see SI, in his future for Big x and him tried to lift a clan of the ground once. He could lead †TAO UNITES†, which would be cool, because other wise It is on its deathbed.

CRX, Spliff not only lied to me in my game, but to Dragoen Link as well as other players, such as Dark7 and then arrogantly proceeded to not care about his actions in the lobby. Is that really the type of player you want in your clan? Because in the clan I'm in, I wouldn't stand for that and I hope you wouldn't either because it drags your reputation through the dirt.

And Terps, then don't play me. Bombs are just disgusting forms. I prefer skill-based matches, not matches where you can hit up to 5 units for massive amounts of damage 100% of the time because you can't win otherwise.

I'm undefeated against you turtles, freestyle with GA and without GA. I only play no GA matches because I feel it is a unit that does not contribute at all to the skill of the game the way it is used, and seeing as how I pay 5 dollars a month, that is my decision. But don't slander me because of it.

As much as I hate per-arranged fights, I have to agree with Wack and Roody on this. The issue involved is not the GA. It is the issue of Honor amounst members of this clan. The honor of agreeing to a certain style of play and then renigging in hopes of a cheap win. That is the issue we are discussing. That is the issue that was brought to our attention. Netjak.com, prides itself on being a top notch clan that has the skills to go toe to toe with any adversary with skill and class, we are not a bunch of silly noobs relying on cheap tactics to score cheap games. Any member of Netjak.com that is uncomfortable with that policy is free to take up residence in any of the other noob clans.

Not to completely change the direction of this thread, but -

As some of you may know, I have decided to take my leave after our little tournament winds down. The game holds no fun for me, in any way, shape or form, so I know it is time to move on.

I can't begin to describe how much netjak means, and has meant to me. Certain members are like family, like brothers. I never thought it would be this way. I never thought I'd feel such a connection to online people who I've never met, and probably will never meet.

I have been honored to carry the netjak flag with my name. I've been with this clan for at least 75% of my TAO time, and there has not been a moment of regret. I've been lucky enough to be one of the leaders of the best server of the best clan. Banff will always be my home, and you 'jaks who play there will always have a special place in my mind.

However, netjak is bigger than Banff. In my time here, I've seen us expand into and dominate both GL and Army. This clan is extraordinary. It has great players, but more importantly, it has great people. That is something that NO other clan can boast.

I know that netjak will continue on, strong as ever after my departure. I look forward to checking in every now and then to meet the new faces and see what's up.

And, this is not goodbye, not quite yet. There are still a few games to play and a war to win.

I shall miss you all. Don't lose sight of the netjak meaning, guys. Great players, great games, great honor.

It has been my pleasure to have served with you. Take care of yourselves. I hope to be able to say goodbye to most of you in person on the servers. Until we meet again...NETJAK STRONG.

Then I am going to carowinds, which I have never been to before. It is suppose to be a big amusement park with some really cool coasters. Then I get to see John Mellencamp and John Fogerty, from Creedance Clearwater Revival, together in concert. I am not the biggest fan, but my parents are, and I do like Mellencamp a bit, so It is going to be fun. I will be back in a week, Wish me luck, and GO GL WIN THE WAR!

I went to a wedding in Charlotte NC, a couple years back. Not a good town to be in if you're not a huge NASCAR fan. I swear to god, it's like the entire city is obsessed.
