In Illinois, the eligible age to get a job is 14.

But, the employer choose's your salary. Meaning, you can be making lower than minimum wage.

It's the decision of the employer. I've been applying for a few jobs lately (I'm 15) and i've turned down all of them because of pay less then minimum wage. The age for Minimum wage in a job is 16.

Right now, i've got a job that pays 8.56 an hour. I work part-time because of school and everything. I get to sit around by a computer, because i am the employers marketing searcher person. Basically, I search for products made by other companys, and see if i can get an order in for a nice discount.

So, I've got it made for the time being. :)

Edit: I work there for about 4 hours every other day.
