Crater did indeed school my grey setup. He'll be the first to admit that he had a large advantage in blocking, and I'll be the first to admit that I didn't play well in that game. The main strength of the default setup is to lull your opponent into thinking it's going to be an easy game... I took far too many silly risks, and paid the price.

I notice the last page or so has been about how person 1 beat person 2 who beat person 3, and therefore person 1 is better than person 3. It's a load of rubbish. Individual games don't decide who is better. I can't be sure I'm better than ducki, because I played him once. I can't be sure that crater is better than me, because I played him once. The only way to find out who is best is to play all the good greys about 10 times and still have a positive record. That's a lot of grey games. It's not going to happen.

Let's just agree that there are about 10-20 greys who are excellent players, but we can't pick out one best grey just like the best gold can't be picked out from the top 20 or so.

But it is THE best way to get a decent grey game when you start of with a 750 account. I did exactly the same with an account named Talaroth on GL. I first start shouting that everybody sucked and that i owned everybody. Then some medium grey comes forward and challenges you, beacuse he wants to show you wrong. You totally humiliate him (come on, he's a medium grey) and then you start drawing good greys towards you. Even Cephas ( I think he's one of the best greys right?) came to me, starting to ask who i was and that he wanted a game. Otherwise you first have to get a 1200 rating with your grey, now i was like 850 and the best greys wanted a piece of me.. It's fn great.

This has just been such a downer week man. Us Alpha's still are allowed time to grieve. With things looking SOOO bright for the TAO of the near future.. and the fun flamming to come on the forums.. It was nice having someone objective in the midst of the converstations that was not blinded by clan loyalty to either of us. I now see that objectiveness fading away.. and more stupid "ribbing", "whining", and insults flying without many true wise outsiders to have a clear view.. This just leaves SKOF, xyx, and snork as the few objective minded individuals... at least in my eyes..

I believe the Tribunal effected every clan.. Their message was loud and worthy to follow. I mention this often here and on our forums.. I have a great respect for them.. nads and I were always trying to help enforce some of their ideals upon the TAO community and try to promote game play.. not game ignorance.

There are plenty of implications here that are just....wrong.

First of all, SKOF himself is in the biggest clan in GL. So I suppose he's a tainted non-thinker.

You also under-value yourself and you over-value clans. I've always viewed you as a clear thinker and I know that I'm one as well.

Also, I didn't hear you screaming the Ides of March when Jeffery was on the Tribunal or the Gunslingers of Eld.

You think Jeffery's opinion will be tied down by ANYTHING? If you think so, then you don't understand Jeffery hardly enough. Jeff and I respect each other, but we disagree on some important issues, trust me.

Now please, but your superstitious netjak fears aside before I start offering you swiss-cheese with your whine. Once again, I call you to be the Alpha Male that you said I wasn't (you punk...lol) and get over it! Netjak has always been about individual recruiting, not sucking in whole clans, and I've wanted to fight alongside Jeff for sometime. I never admitted it publically until he made that thread awhile back talking about quitting.

As a side note, Ozmaj85 is also on the clan in Legends. I spoke to him personally about "past drama" and he regrets acting as he did. It wasn't easy for me to put this aside but I did, as bygones should be bygones if two sides are willing to put it aside.

By my comment I meant not in Si or netjak.. it seems very rare these days that our two clans.. both with great thinkers every agree on much.. I wasn't screaming now. I was quite glad taht Jeffery was in the Tribunal.. As I said it saddens me to think that the Tribunal is no longer. 1. Based on your first comment, it looks like you're trying to act as if SI and Netjak are the only two clans with worthwhile and important influence. Sorry, I don't believe that. Recently, I believe SKOF's views are more linked to his clan ties than you think or he'll admit. For example, I don't know of one Elite member who isn't on "DR's Side".

2. You've always viewed our clan as the dark-side, I know this. But then again, you're SI. Lighten up and show respect. Though my respect for SI has gone down in one sense, it's never in the sense that I view you all as evil. Finally, the Tribunal died LONG before Jeffery joined netjak, pal.

3. Something about our clan that drives people wild? Well, let's look at some examples of groups with dominance: Microsoft, New York Yankees, the Chicago Bulls of old, the L.A. Lakers, Manchester United....groups that win a lot, and are always at or near the top are hated. It's just that simple. But we don't mind. :)

Wow, Such drama I have caused by joining netjak.

Let's put it this way meletus. The only person pulling my strings is me. I act on my own, and by my own beliefs. Since I was going to be going active again, I decided it was time to reclan. And yes, I wish it could have been The Tribunal. But such was not meant to be.
Out of the current clans, there was only 2 choices that fit me. SI and Netjak are both strong opinionated clans. Unfortunately, recent interactions with certain SI members prevent me from applying to SI, so Netjak was the obvious choice.
Anyone who would lose respect because of a clan name I have in the game never respected me to begin with. Whether Tribunal, Si, Netjak or alone, I am Jeffery of Banff. My beliefs will not be changed by being in a certain clan. I will neither refrain or make a point of arguing with anyone based on their clan.

Well, after the screen, I had the luck of playing AGAINST someone who Seed let use that unit.

I did take a screen of that with my cursor over it. But I put all of that info and details of that battle into the netjak forums where I'll be sure I won't get into any trouble for revealing info I shouldn't.

All I have to say is that as it stands, it looks to be the kind of unit out of Bottle's wet dream. :)

Bottle, I tend to disagree with you (so what else is new?) I think if this thing sits there and keeps weakening the pieces around it, then if a rusher gets it planted near the turtle, then the turtle is done for. Combine it with a muddie and a DSM attack, the turtle is through.

Let's put it this way.

I was using a formation that I haven't lost with in AGES against it. The pic I posted here is actually from a friend(you think I spead Chinese?). When I played, I was going all out offensive.

This unit SINGLEHANDEDLY whooped me.

The way it's attack range looks will not allow it to poison and freeze an entire turtle...it would have to be too close.

It's more like a frost golem with a kick. And I don't know if you've ever played Bottle when he's got a frostie and a furgy alive together...it's a nightmare. I can only imagine what Bottle would do with this...horrible.

Using this unit in a rush formation could also work, but that's like rushing with an enchantress and/or a frostie. Certainly possible, but...simply not a rushing piece.

Bottle, another concern of mine is perhaps shedding too much light on a unit in forums that I'm not supposed to do so. I know that some Legenders got in trouble for that earlier. Now that DR is gone, I'm not sure if Bills has the same policy but I'm not taking any risks. So that's why I won't say TOO much here.

When people see more stuff coming out, their attitude on 2 scouts might just change.

1) I pointed out reasons why the game designer made his decision. One of his duties is to try and keep the game balanced. If that means taking away a second scout, then maybe a few moments of thought over WHY he wanted to do that are deserved.
2) Just because you are unwilling to change as the game changes does not make the changes to the game wrong. After all the bitching and whining, people are getting their precious new units. And it is changing how the game will be played, which shouldn;t be that big of a surprise. I like my 2 scouts as much as the next guy.
3) I have done the same thing before once, and started whining about quitting. Nowadays everything there is anything mentions, some baby starts crying about how they will leave. And, as i said, anyone wanting to leave would probably have a better effect on TAO if they just left already.
4) Maybe I seem a bit aloof because most of the time i look at the bigger picture, not just at how a little change will effect me. losing the second scout would force everyone here to change how they play. But, with some of the new units coming, that might be a change needed. I personally would not support the change. But if it needed to be done to keep the game balanced, so be it.

Your entire argument seems based on how removing one scout would better balance the game. It's not necessarily true. We have 3 knights, and not many golds use all 3. 3 knights are a mighty melee force, just as 2 scouts and an ambusher are a mighty ranged force. In a similar way to no one using 3 knights because they can be stopped by range or furgons, no one will use all 3 ranged attackers because they will be stopped by melee units in close.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I see no one moaning about having 2 scouts. Even legenders who come over here enjoy it. So why take it out of the game?

Having 2 scouts negates the use of most melee or lightly armored units. IF USED CORRECTLY. BRs can be lethal against scouts, especially when so armored. And while having only one scout would strengthen turtles, it would also weaken them at the same time, because armored scouts are very, very powerful.

It is indeed a moot point. And my reasoning for it staying like it is is that at the moment we have a choice of one scout or two. Why remove that choice?

Well you could also see a misclick as lack of skill / concentration. Like a retarded move, which you would never make if you paid attention.

When I'm clearly winning, I will not give back the points, else of course. It all depends on the fact, Who will win, thus who will deserve the points.

Same goes for a win during a tournament, but would make it a lot harder to actually make that decision.

Sometimes I get 6 hours. But thats a lot of sleep.

And there are other blocks, especially at the station, where I am doing other stuff.
But at home I usually have TAO on and check every few minutes as I do other things.

Well.....It's like this, i'm in the legends lobby, (i'm quite well known there!) talking to my chumps (da1n, 12) and I ask for a game with 4GoTteN_WaRriOr.
I say..."Do you bomb?" He say's "No" I say "7th flr, you sure you don't bomb?" He replies, "Yes, I don't bomb." "O.k then, 7th flr" I reply. We play, and guess what? That's right he bombs. So I tell everyone in lobby he is a lier and not to trust him because he bombs. So him and his little n00b friends argue too and call me a n00b for losing because i agreed to a non-bomb match and got bombed. Anyway it's all a big "cuffuffle" of arguments and shouting. Aparently i'm on their hitlist, (I told them I added them to netjak hitlist, which I am going to do now.)

Dude, there's little to be done as you brought the situation on yourself. Sometimes, it's good to just be quiet and let the people talk trash. You haven't learned that yet.
