OFFICIAL MISSION STATEMENT (Created August 25th, 2004)


I don't know why people think that my clan should be held to some kind of moral level that nobody else must also have. What, just because we're big and we have our name everywhere you look you think we have to be risen to a higher moral standard than anyone else?

We're just people like any other, composed of people. And people come in a wide selection of flavors, from nice guys to jerks. We're not going to watch our words for anyone, simply because nobody else has to watch their words.

See, people don't understand why we're so good, and they think it's because of some mysterious reason.

Those that hate us think that we're some kind of cult, or a mafia family that coerces its members that do things. Apparently, we don't play the game for fun like everyone else does.

Those that love us think that our success is due to some kind of brilliance, some kind of genius. They think that we must have an amazing charm or grace about us that nobody else has.

Well, screw both sides. I'm sick of this garbage. The ONLY reason why this clan is what it is is simply because I'm a grown man of 26 and happen to be mature enough to stick with what I started. That's something that most leaders of clans never learn. I find it funny how so many of these so-called leaders will just abandon the clan to go somewhere else, therefore killing the clan.

I just stuck around since January, and of COURSE I would pick up new talent. And this new talent would pick up others. It grows upon itself with little work from me. A reputation will be built around very simple standards and non-complication recruiting procedues. No mystery, no coercion, no genius, no magic. Just consistency.

You know how it is; everyone who is highly rated in this game is not somehow better than everyone else. They just PLAY alot and therefore they get high ratings. Same with me. I just stuck around a lot and therefore the clan is built. Simple as that.

So cut the jazz.

We're just people like anyone else, and we'll not be guilted into having to have some kind of mysterious moral standard that is subjective to every complainer. So we have clan pride. So does everyone else. So we're rude at times. So is everyone else. So we have good players. So does everyone else.

We will not be placed at a higher moral standard than everyone else, and I will keep doing exactly what I've been doing since January. I've not changed. Nothing has changed.

So I say to the long line of netjak haters: screw you all. We'll do what we want.

I say to the long line of netjak admirers: screw you all, we're not that special and you can do it too.

Leave us the heck alone, and this is the last time I publically defend this clan. I'm going to do my thing, you all do your thing, and we'll move on. I'm done with this subject.

This has been quite a month for me. It started out bad as I thought Ducki had left for good, but that was not true.***YEEHAW***
Then my dad keeps grounding me from the computer thanks to BOOOTLE and my big yap. However to have school finally over and to be able to have wins against Medemia and the above mentioned one. I would say that this is definitly the high point in my young career.
I am a testament to what clan netjak and going to the "school of the DUCK" can do for a noob. Good point Twelve. You know , I've been thinking about what makes a "clan" lately. Some people think it's about having the most top 100 players or the most top 10 players. I admit, I think about those things too, but it really doesn't matter that much. You know what does matter? We have guys like OMK, a guy with wisdom you just can't match, and lord ducki, a guy that accomplished an amazing feat ( 1465 as a grey) and still wants more, and Medemia, a guy who, through thick and thin and hard times, stays netjak hard, and dim, a 13 year old kid who does nothing but praise this clan and all the people who have helped him , and vickaz, an excellent player who ALWAYS has a kind word ( and a laugh for my stupid jokes) and Irondan, one of the best on Banff, but his head still fits in his hat, and 66, aleader who is always willing to give someone a chance and is ALWAYS trying to perfect the game, and Twelve, the coolest guy I've met since I started playing this game. This guy responds to EACH and EVERY post that a member makes, no matter where it is, and he is a true student of the game. Thats a leader folks. There are a ton of members I didn't mention, I just don't have any more room. Netjak rules * slowly reaches for beer*

Netjak, as a clan, rocks. They have good players and excellent people in it. I'd say it's more a people's clan than a player's clan though. SI is the reverse, it has some good people in but is mainly a good player's clan. Imagine if we merged... *stares dreamily into middle-distance*

Not that that should happen of course, netjak and SI are the only real competition on this server.

66 began the netjak.com site, and his motto was always "God Bless Netjak". Hey, either that or we just got lucky with clan [netjak.com]. Who knows how long this clan will last? I've had a blast with it since the day it all started with the very first post on this thread in January, and I'll continue to do so until we die. I admit, however, that I never thought I would view the people on the clan as brothers(and a couple of sistahs!!!), but that's how I feel about the matter.

As for merging with SI...that would be the dumbest idea in the world simply because there would be nobody good left to play. Nobody to compete against, no rivalry. That's the greatest flaw(?) of this whole clan arrangement...the bigger you get, the more difficult it is to find someone for points. :) Hence, the need for at least two strong clans in every server.

The other solution is to adopt an attitude to not play for points, but nobody can take that seriously for long.

MAYBE, a solution might be for people in the clan to have the OPTION to play one another for points or not. That would be a worthy idea, I think.

Well, as Old Man Killer said, the rules of war and honor in this thread are finite. Thus far, the only way we've been allowed to let out our aggressions and problems with others outside of our clan were through the medium of the "YO MOMMA JOKE."

Rescorlian, Devast8, Dubious, and others obeyed this rule, fought well, and were all soundly defeated. Some showed more resistance than others...but...in the end they all left.

I'm afraid, Bottle and Dim, that if the two of you want to solve your problems in THIS thread and under public eye, the two of you will have to fight it out through the above medium of the "YO MOMMA JOKE".

If the two of you cannot comply with this, then the problems can either only be solved over pm or somewhere else outside of this thread.

Man...I played SO much Street Fighter and I still love the game. The last time I've seen Dhalsim in a game was...Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha...and he was miserable in it.

But I have to admit that I've never seen a good Dhalsim user. He was always a bit too easy to beat...to slow...and when he stretched himself out, it often made to easy a target.

But like I said, I've never SEEN a good Dhalsim user.

LOL. That's damn funny! Oh, and I would love to hear what happened to pyro_guy4. I've been in the clan for close to 2 1/2 months and he was gone before I ever joined. A lot of people talk about him.....he's becoming like an urban legend.

This will NOT be the only time I post about this......so bear with me. I would like netjak to take a moment of silence for the retiring of nads. He was one of the funniest and coolest people on our server , and I'll miss him. I was on tonight ( along with Medemia and Only_Option ) when he logged on for the last time.
I was glad to be there, but it was tough to see him go....* slowly reaches for beer *

Yeah, I guess a good question to ask is, who is going to be gone this summer? I know Frylock said he's gonna be pretty scarce ( sounds like he's got a really full plate ) but I don't really know of anyone else. I remember the days when summer meant vacation. Now , it just means I have to keep the beer on ice......* slowly reaches for beer *
