Now, there is a lot of ways to trick new players into getting kicked from the server, restarting, etc so how about add a few things to stop that. Really easy things, won't take much and save a lot of hassle.

f5 trick - makes you restart the game.

Solution: add a confirmation box, you don't restart the game that often so a confirmation box would solve the problem as well not be annoying or anything. Also, it's not just for new players, sometimes you might misclick and hit f5 etc, and it sucks when your in the middle of a game and you have to lose stats or the game, whichever, because of it.

say a bad word - kicked.

solution:
1. Just add a filter.
2. Don't get kicked if your in a battle. Sure, if your in the public room and start yelling out random bad words you can be kicked, it isn't that bad, but when your in a game and you get kicked... why? You lose stats as well for being kicked. Plus if your in a battle you're only talking to one player, not an entire room.

Or, you could not be a complete idiot, and use half the common sense god gave to a flea, and never worry about being tricked.

to expand on jeff's thing...

f5 is not TAO related. Its a reload command for your browser. So there's not much TAO can do for you there.

The filter thing is just how it is. Expand your vocabulary, and stop typing/doing what your opponent tells you to do.

And totally agreed with Jeff. Once is bad enough, but if your constantly restarting and getting kicked, you've gotta be an idiot (or have absolutely no sense of pattern recognition i suppose). Whats the phrase? Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me (and a large slapping of the trout while we're at it).

I think for the swearing in battle thing, it should just be the same as typing "<>", it just dissapears.
and try to ignore this critisism, some people tend to make everything sound more drastic then it is, makes them feel better.

I'm all for making things easy on newbs, as they are a possible source of income, but we really shouldn't change what we've got to deal with sickos and spammers just to accomodate them.

We should probably just make the information in the FAQ more easily obtainable. Would a newbie really click on "FAQ" after finishing all of those long, boring instructions?
