I was just searching through the vBulletin Manual (our forums), and I found the reputation levels and how much points is needed for it. Looks like we've seen every level ('infamous around these parts', and 'reputation beyond repute'). So, tough luck Jeffery, no more different reputation titles for you, and tough luck to all the newbs who want to get a light red box and a different title (unless our administrators want to update the list).

Possibly. Jeffery is on 3000 reputation points, and he hasn't got anything new in his reputation since his 2000 points. All we have now is to look forward to seeing a noob with a light red box.

For some reason a particular post of mine will get me like 15 different reps (usually a combo of pos/neg) in a single day. You ppl are too unpredictable. Why can't you just luv all the words of byte, and not just some?

Are you referring to the 2000 points it takes (which means, you are re-styling the whole reputation title system, by replacing the current titles with new and trout-packed titles), or are you referring to the 2000 titles that you supposedly have made up.

I hope it's the first option, because my 10 reputation titles would look really bad next to 2000 titles.

I'd maybe send in my own...but most of my lower rep things would be degrading ones..and the top one would be "As close to being as cool to a trout as you can get!" which I don't see a lot of people going for (since obviously nothing is anywhere near as cool as a trout..it'd be misleading).

You know, I used to be a member of another message board where I whored it up. Then one day someone was proud because they got past 189 messages, the number of post by someone of ill repute on the board who was booted. It made me think. The guy was well respected but only posted when it was necessary and was able to live with small goals. It was refreshing.
So now I look to make posts which are meaningful instead of taking part of the random, the meaningless or the pc+1 (which is why it took me so long to join RDT -- misconception.) So if you want to brag that, "Hey, I made 100 posts today!" go ahead. I think there are those of us under 1000 posts who make one post that destroys the substance and quality of many's 100 posts.

im only on occasionally anyhow, so the rep system doesn't really effect me. Heck i wasn't even aware of it until like 3 months ago. I just went into my user cp and scrolled down farther than normal and was all like :confused:
Plus there are some ignorant people out there who neg for the stupidest reasons (like my banner, I cant count how many times people have negged this banner, if it is really that innapropriate then a mod should say so.) so i have lost all of the little interst I had in it.

So... I was thinking about this...

While I REALLY like the fact that sergiy (being awesome) added the new alternate texts to the rep levels, would it interest anyone else in seeing if he would change the levels at which boxes were achieved and still leave the alternate texts as they are?

If I'm like, 15th or so on the rep chain and I've got 6,600 something rep, then why not raise the (formerly illustrious) 11th box to something that maybe Hugh and Jeff have already achieved (I'm assuming the "immortal" text is at 10,000, but I could be wrong) and raise the bar on all the boxes. I know he can't make more, but given that the top guys can give hits of well over 100 rep apiece, that second box being at 100 just doesn't fit anymore. Heck, it took me like 5 reps before I got my second box, why not make box 2 at 500? Space them out so that not everyone has maxxed it out.

Just an idea.

True, but you can change what amount of rep is needed for each set of boxes. Maybe make them a bit larger increment up until the 11th box.

10th 15,000-20,000
11th 20,001+

The number of images is hardcoded into the forum software, so sergiy would have to change the code or install one of these vB-Hacks (e.g. this one (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=76586)), which really is not worth the time ... now that i got 11 boxes, hehe

I realize this is an old thread and all, but I was wondering if we could change things up a bit.

Perhaps a few more levels beyond has become immortal; and/or raising the number of points it takes to gain each level by quite a bit. Many new members, including myself, have 11 boxes before they reach 100 posts. Also new members, who are not fully aware of how a forum works could be at 3 or 4 red boxes before they have a second chance to come round.

"Blah blah blah reputation means nothing", is one of the big arguements and what not; however I find it fun to get little messages and reading the new levels. I don't want to reach the end this quick, it almost spoils reputation getting it so fast. I think the levels need to be raised considerably, making people look forward to new levels.

Some ideas I had were:

_____ is a name for the ages.
_____ is a living legend.
_____ is a friend to all.
_____ holds influence over the masses.
