i recently played a game that i would have won but instead turned into a draw since my dragon uses 3 turns to be able to move or attack. i killed my opponents knight and my dragon had three turns till it could move or attack. with this he/she just skipped her turn 3 times just as i did and the game ended up being a draw. is there a way that the game would not end as a draw if u have units left or just possibly make the draw to where u must skip 4 times?

The game is DESIGNED that way. It is one of the weaknesses of the dragon that it cannot win the battle if it is the only unit left, unless you are facing a stone golem for which you can move into range and wait, then attack without moving, so you only have to wait 2 turns and will not draw.

Yeah, believe me it was worse when there was no draw limit designed :s.
However bumping it up to 4 turns might not be an un-reasonable idea, but 3 should be plently, plan then attack, it's how things work.

i know that is how it works but the dragon was all that had his/her knight i killed and then i was somewhat forced to draw

I've forced a draw a number of times, and really enjoyed it. Nothing more entertaining than when you opponent doesn't properly plan ahead and ends up taking a draw instead of the win.
Anyways...why exactly would people want to increase it to 4? What's the inherent benefit over 3? A more difinitive reason than the draw thing, since obviously the opponent who knows how to utilize and force that draw instead of losing wouldn't want it to change.

How about, we keep the 3-Turn Draw rule, and you just learn to play better!
Simple.

Word.
Change the rule, and the dragon becomes overpowered. It's not MEANT to be able to win the battles on its own.

I'll quote myself seeing as people get the idea that it should be bumped to 4.
To clear things up, I said it wouldn't "be" un-reasonable to bump it to 4 turns, however 3 is is "plently" enough to get everything settled, and if thats to much to handle because all you have left is ur dragon...tough.
So I never said we should bump it to 4, but I don't believe that it's not the most unrealistic idea ever even though it would never happen.

I'm not sure Seed had this in mind when he developed the draw rule.

Seed often is slow.
(In the words of The Exile..)
Word.
But, like has been said many times already, everything is fine the way it is. Even with the addition of some stupid units......... The game has still retained everything good.
There are a few constants that will ALWAYS be:
1) Gravity.
2) Taxes.
3) TAO being enjoyable to play.
Just my two cents...
