I've been trying to get BitTorrent back up and running on my comp, since I miss having it (lost all my old stuff when hd died in spring).

However, its been difficult.
I'm using a different wireless setup than I was then, and i can't figure out how to configure it properly to allow bit torrent access to the proper ports so that I can actually download/upload files.

Don't suppose anyone has any experience working with D-Link wireless setups? Or just a lot of experience using bittorrent?

I got my IP and the proper ports I need to config to let my network's firewall give it access, but for some reason whenever I plug them in its still not getting much activity on bittorrent.

Nope, can't say that I have any experience or any insightful knowledge :(.

The one thing I can suggest though is, are you getting very little bits on the program, or is it just not giving you anything at all. If it's no.2, you might need to turn off your restore and anti-virus, often these will "over-protect" your comp from things that my seem "unsuitable" in it's view. Counter Strike was a bitch to fix but I did it :S.

What site are you using?

Did you use suprnova.org before it closed?

various sites ;) and I'm getting almost nothing in the dl (sometimes 1-4k a sec, but usually 0) and nothing at all in the upload area.

I'm reasonably certain its not my comp's firewall tahts the problem, but more the security on my wireless modem. You can set it to allow free access for you comp on the ports that bittorrent access, but unfortunately, they don't provide much aid on that for d-link users.

I can access the administration systems and controls on the modem, but apparently I'm not properly setting the exemption to allow bittorrent to freely upload/download.

Well whatever Anti-Virus program u use, regardless has a built in screening process, when I was playing Ragnarok on this comp, it would see keyloggers for the private server log in area as Trojans. So I guess you can either re-align ur ftp to allow the .bit files to come in, or turn off your anti virus program completely.

even with the firewall and security programs completely down, there's still no activity, hence why I think its the wireless network itself and not my comp.
