Now, Ive seen lots of threads about sports, such as football, and baseball. I think its time, that I bring out my favorite sport. Futbol, aka Soccer. I live and die for the game, and thought Id bring it out and show you guys a bit more of it, and the things that you normally don't see.
http://www.freestylesoccereire.com/video/nelson.htm
Along with videos of freestyling they also have fantasy soccer, which is actually... dare I say it, Fun.
Now I also suggest going to www.soccercommercials.com and viewing all of the videos. All of them are creative and fun.
But for those that don't find that stuff interesting Ill just finish off the thread with freestyling.

So all in all, this is an attempt to open people eyes towards another great sport around the world. To show its not all guys in short shorts chasing each other, but its a fun, respectable game, that requires skill. So anyone thats game, Just do it.
Edit: Just forgot to ask anyone that does watch, follow, or care for soccer what teams they like. Im an Arsenal (FA Premier) Barcelona (La Liga) Juve/ACMilan (Italian Serie A) Dynamo Kiev, Ukraine, Russia, Brazil, Mexico Fan :p

AND1 Soccer!!! I personally dislike soccer but damn those are some cool tricks. That is the best soccer I've ever seen. I'm used to watching the boring soccer on tv that has about 8 shots on net in 90 minutes. Very cool stuff!

Thats what im trying to change. That "boring" game. If you ever watch Futsal, or Indoor Soccer, even in America, you will be very impressed. Its one of the fastest games in the world. About 200 shots a game. 60 minute game. Each shot over 75 mph. So tune in now and then to a futsal game. Hopefully ill get one of my games up on the web to show you how it works.
For more info on futsal check out www.insoccer.org
Personally I think avid soccer players are pound for pound some of the best athletes in all of sports. That seems like it's an obvious statement, but really. Check out some of the stuff they do. AMAZING control and style. Skills, baby  .
I play soccer, and love it. The game isn't actually my favorite part, though it is fun. For the record, I play defense... Stopper, Sweeper, left or right D, wherever the Coach feels like putting me really...
Anyways, soccer rocks. :coolpunk:

Nice, a soccer player in top form is the most fit athlete in the world. Running on avg 8 miles a game and practice. Its tough. I play mid. Well im going to sleep now :p so Ill check in tmw morn.
BTW, I play MPS (Mass Premier Soccer) our team is sweet, and just made JV so im excited. :)

Soccer is deffinatly not a boreing game... Its like the most grueling(sp?) game. Run from one end of a feild to the other, while trying to hold a ball with your feet, then someone kicks it and you gotta run back. Plus there's alot of skill involved, with trying to hold the ball, evade ppl aiming and shooting etc. With just you feet/chest/head.. Anyways, I like playing soccer, dont find it great to watch any sport, but love tho's clips ive seen of soccer players 0wning other players.

Soccer is definitely in my top 3 fun sports to watch.
1. Hockey
2. Soccer
3. Tennis
4. Football
5. Basebal
6. All the other ones
If you think about it, America is retarded. Most people here like very slow games like baseball and football where a play is never longer than 10 seconds, if it is that long even. I like fast games where play isn't stopped. If you ask me, games where plays go on for minutes are much more fun to watch.

Alright, I'm not going to say anything about soccer because I don't really know outside of division III high school sports. The difficulty of controlling a ball while sprinting and making accurate shots using your feet is beyond my capabilities. However, I have a problem with that statement.
I consider a martial artist to be among the most conditioned athlete in the world, and I know for a fact that the top form wrestlers in my school are more athletic than our top form soccer players. A soccer player can go home and eat whatever they want, a wrestler has to watch their weight and sometimes run constantly to keep their weight in check.
I challenge any soccer player to step into a grueling six minute match against a tough opponent.

All sports have their own requirements the athletes need to meet in order to be good at that sport. Paul is just saying a soccer player is most fit because soccer is his sport.

I will accept that. :)
It's just the statement itself that soccer players are the most fit athletes, no opinion given. ;)

I used to wrestle and its tough. But now I play soccer, and our team is going to nationals so... :p and the thing I said bout being most fit athlete, I heard from a training video. If soccer players in your school don't watch their weight, idk why. All the kids in my school have 2 hour practice every day, on top of running in the morning etc...

Boo friggin hoo. Get used to it and stop trying to brag. Because just about every sports team has its own grueling excercise program.

Very true. When i played High school ball, we had teh most grueling training than all the other sports in our high school.
4 days a week, we ran 4 miles then went to the gyn and lifted weights for a couple of hours. The other 3 days we ran sprint after sprint for around 2-3 hours, basically till we puked. Why, i don't knwo why, b/'c baseball you run the least than anyother sport *shrugs*

That sucks. My heart goes out to any other person like you who has to train so hard.

Nope, what about golf?

Golf's not a sport. At least not in comparison to other young athletes. It's a sport for the elderly. I wouldn't expect a 60 year old man to play a community game of football. And for that reason, Tiger Woods is a sleazebag who's picking on the elderly. :p
At my school we practice from 2:30 until 5:30-6 for wrestling. I usually bring 2-3 shirts, each one is drenched with sweat. Sprints, calisthenics, spinners (One man is in referees position, the other is chest to back and has to circle the other man while keeping their chest to their back as fast as possible for 30 seconds. We usually do it for 10-15 minutes in 30 second intervals), drilling and live wrestling.
Nomar, that sounds like my schools 5 day football camp. I'd love a program like that because it'd make you into an awesome athlete even though I'd be dying every practice. Hopefully I'll get a pre-season program going this year for wrestling at my school.

It's really really nice to meet you ma, I really really dig your style, so you wanna come chill with a balla huh? Let's get down ...
DANGER!!! Watch yourself!!!
But seriously, awesome stuff. Haven't played soccer in a while, use to be a pretty good goalie, good reflexes, but couldn't move a ball with my feet if I had to

Wow, where do you get the time, dude. It must take at least half a day to got through eighteen holes...& I live in the tropics, so playing when it's 40 C outside in the blazing sun is no fun.
I'll rather stay inside and watch soccer. :)

Nice, I only watch big games, or spanish leagues, or int. games. Otherwise, its boring. I really enjoy watching indoor soccer though, something about the hard tackles and speeding shots makes it exciting.
