If I recall correctly, 12 said your name wouldn't affect you joining his clan or not, not that there was nothing wrong with it :p

I'd say anyone who has to define themselves by attaching so closely to a group (especially when they weren't even a part of it yet) has deeper issues than they're willing to admit.

It just so rigidly defines what others are going to think of your here. No matter what you post, your playing skill, or your attitude, you'll have a hard time being known as anything but a netjak lackey. Whether someone think that's a good thing or not is their own call, but your stuck with that sort of label now.

But this kid decided to step up and take a dig at the conduct of my clan as a whole (rather disrespectful behavior in its own right, considering he still has his grey in AK). My point was, he's using a minor problem to persecute The Arcadian Knights by means of affiliation.

He found one member who said something in battle, and made a dig on AK because of it... So I responded in kind.

To be honest, I've harbored people that were just sticking around until a better offer came to them. Some "upgraded" to Bushido Gaiden and netjak.com and other clans, but others enjoyed their stay in this clan and the loyalty came later than they joined. (Still others, including two of my Great Lakes leaders, had such a good time in the clan that even though they left, they came back when they found their clans not desirable for their tastes.)

Partisanship isn't a requirement, nor does it really have to be. If he wants to be in netjak, more power to him--I'm not stopping him. In fact, training with our clan members might help him refine his gaming until he CAN get in. However, if he enjoys his stay in the clan enough, he just might not want to leave. :yes3: Additionally, I haven't really seen him act off-color, and he DID pass the tryout, so he's good enough to stay by my book, even if only temporarily.

When I first invited Bodexxx, he was going to try recreate ChaosGladiators, and I'm sure he didn't have plans to stick along for too long. However, we welcomed him in the meantime and treated him well knowing full well he might not stay, and he made the decision to stay with us. Kindness and perseverence prevails. :happy:

2xfire and Dragoen Link, who came to us on the way to make their own clans (The Rebels and Shadowed Paladins), who enjoyed our clan and their stay so much that they came to us when they no longer wanted to lead their clans. They came here and worked their way up, and now they lead mine.

FURTHERMORE, the hospitality we're willing to extend to members that might not even stay indefinitely attributes to our reputation as a clan, and people will find us more desirable for it. :happy:

True, these are examples that show that it worked out. However, you didn't know this from the beginning. You let them in, knowing that they actually wanted to be in another clan. Meaning that they don't think your clan is as important as the clan they want to join.

It should not be an honour for the clan that this player wants to join, it should be an honour that the player is allowed to join your clan.

Of course there should be some kind of balance between the two, but when you allow people to join just for a little while because they actually want to be somewhere else, there's definitely not a balance.
