I have been given the reputation of being a skilled furgon user and I have never lost to a gray. Never plan on it either. :)
Same.
I never used a furgon as a gold, and I never lost to a grey. However I've beaten many golds with the default grey. Never played 12's form though.

there was a grey that i played who had 6 witches.... he completely fried my turtle... and i don't think your setup can survive a similar DMW rush
greys with more than 2 DMW are rare.... of course

If u did i gotta give u a pat on the back?
Also i saw u had the setup for a year and a half, so u mastered it, i dont think anyone else can.

In order to make the claim that your form is invincible to greys, I think it might have to go undergo a more radical testing. I have seen screen shots of your form (they might have been wrong), and think it might be beatable, given the following two conditions:
1) A grey goes into the game knowing your exact formation, including which side its on
2) The grey gets first move.
It might be more interesting if you incorporated these two conditions into any future matches...
That being said, eventually I'd like a crack at it

Read much? Actually try sometime before you go bumping threads back up to the top. It has been beaten. 12 held a set of matches where he advertised the form, it was up to luck about sameside and first turn. He lost on the 13th match, to Mithrandir, who got same side and first turn. 12 accomplished his goal of having it beaten (finally), albeit by a tailored form and a bit of luck.
To recap - learn to read threads before you post in them. This is about the 5th time this thread has been bumped by someone "wanting a crack at it." Even reading the last page would have told you it was beaten - seriously, show some effort here.

That form is far from being unbeatable for a grey. I don't see what's the point in even fearing loss to a fps grey that doesn't have mud.... just play turtle and you are really unbeatable.

I was just pointing out there's no point in even talking about unbeatable gold vs grey forms on a server where greys can't have furgons muds and frosts. Any elite gold turtler making a turtle especially designed to beat greys is actually unbeatable and i am sure bottle agrees with me on this one.

Secondly, I did in fact read the previous four pages before posting. The only evidence of it being beaten was Mith saying "It has been beated" Followed by hatch saying "By a legender" I think there's a major difference between an fps and a legender beating the form... Anyway my mistake, but jesus you guys are harsh.

He commented that a "legender"(someone that plays on Legends) played against the form and won.
Now, there were no rules about what units you could use but, the invitation to play was on Army with a grey. Legends units were ot even in the equation.

I would do it, but I've already LOST to greys. :yes3: There is no fame in doing what others have done before you. Twelve had the distinct benefit of being undefeated against greys, but I've lost to three. (In my defense, that's a very tiny sliver in comparison to the golds I've beaten with greys!)

Twelve WAS undefeated before this tournament, which is LT's point. Twelve could start a tournament like this because he was undefeated, something LT can't claim.

Word. I would love to see some of these people who make these claims win 12 straight games, formation revealed, with screenshots.
No, I never lost to a grey in FPS until Mith. But Mith is no longer the only, as Emerald Slasher beat me on a night a couple of days later in which I was VERY tired (and had no business playing). But it wasn't with THIS formation.

Come on y'all, you don't even need to offer a monetary prize, just set up your own unbeatable formation and let others try for the sport of it. ONE of you people that seem to think you'd have a better strategy ought to give it a shot.

I almost beat Mith as a grey when he used this formation, but he got a side DSM save and some lucky hits on my Scout and after that there was nothing left to do but pick up the pieces...
I did of course use my normal formation and all that crap.
I think if 12 were to ever bring this thing out of retirement, I might have a chance. Mith isn't the original user of the set, and would most likely be out of his element, but he still gave me a feel for how it would work, and I think I could get the rest.
Mithrandir
10-11-2005, 09:54 PM
For the record, I was WAY beyond out of my element in trying to use that thing. I barely beat LT with it and only because of a lot of luck. On the other hand, using Bottle's no drop grey formation soundly beat him in a grey vs grey match (even though I hadn't played one in months). In other words, I did better against LT with a grey set I was comfortable with then with what is believed by some to be the greatest gold anti-grey formation ever.

:o I guess you could put it that way... But the match still gave me a feel for how it would work. Since most grey formations have only one or two ranged attackers (Witch + Scout), and if they have more they are rarely well-protected, a stoned and powered Dragonspeaker and Pyromancer would make quick work of a few fragile ranged attackers. After that, you can either chip away at your opponents' remaining units or wait until they come to you, freeze + terminate, and make quick work of your opponent.
That's the basic opinion I got of it at least.

I wouldn/t mind doing one of these tournies. I am yet to see a grey beat my new rush form. I personally dont think you can do it. I've only ever lost to one grey in my whole time being gold and that was a side assasin block that led to my dragon and knight being blown up.(I know I shouldn't have let that happen). I might try one of these tournys one day when things aren;t soo busy and I'm bored.
