I asked in the main room and was told that drops haven't happened in a long time, and I was curious if that was just people being dicks to me after an argument or if that has some substance. Also, the website mentions that 10$ is a permanent gold account, where the forums comment that it's 5$/month. Which is accurate? Also, do grey accounts still get deleted monthly? Sorry for the newbish post, but with contrary information spread about, I can't really be sure without some feedback.

So wait. I'm confused now. Which one is run by the dude who made the game? They both host the exact same game judging from the load screen and the graphics. I play from the link on that page, but it's not just one of your three servers; my user/pass doesn't work on any of them. Hm.

We are the official and original one. Notice how the game is 'Tactics Arena'. Notice our website is 'www.tacticsarena.com', while the other one is 'disgisonline.com'.

Forums aren't always hosted on the URL of the site they relate to, obviously. I hadn't figured out yet that you were both running the same game. That is hardly something that should occur to me from common sense; common sense would dictate one site runs the game, the owner's site. I haven't even put together if this game's servers give money to Seed or how it works. Just seems an odd way of doing business from his end, putting up 2 distinct places to play with no relation.

EDIT: In addition, DigiS shows up in the load screen and the person that made it verifies out via newgrounds and tactics core demo by way of email address. The other side struck me as legitimate. I have no such thing to show me this one is.

Well, strange or not, anyone with an IQ over 50 can learn to read English, and notice the difference in how the sites are run. Each one CLEARLY states what it's pricing and features are.

Legends is the original server run and maintained by Seed, the creator of TAO. Legends has the $10 one time payment for a single gold and $20 payment for a double gold. Tactics Arena Online is the server run by Bills where it's $5 dollars a month.

The game is basically the same with a few minor differences, Legends only erases grey accounts after 3 months of inactivity and offers rare drops, Furgons, Mud Golems, etc. They also have a one scout restriction regardless of being grey or gold.

Tactics Arena Online has less rare drops, with the exception of Revelations that has Mud Golem drops every now and again, the allowance of two scouts and no single and double golds. 5$ gets you the whole kit-n-kaboodle.

As far as server quality, Tactics Arena has more staff which help user problems get solved quicker and less down-time when the servers do crash. Since TAO has 3 servers as opposed to Digis' one(Legends) there is also less crowding and lag.

22 is just messing with you. I was similarly confused when I started playing. Seed is the guy who made the game, and he hosts it at digisonline.com at the Legends server. He licensed the game to FlashPlayerStudios (FPS), which runs the tacticsarena.com site (Banff, Armageddon, Great Lakes, Revelations server).

Some of the differences between FPS and Legends:
1. $20 for a lifetime gold at Legends, or $10 for a watered-down gold. $5/month for full-access gold at FPS.
2. slightly more reliable and less laggy servers at FPS
3. grays get deleted monthly at FPS, they get deleted at irregular intervals at Legends
4. no drops on Legends for now, there are drops at FPS but it kind of doesn't matter if you're a gray since you get wiped every month anyway
5. golds at Legends get only 1 scout; golds at FPS get 2 scouts. This is because Seed felt that having 2 scouts + Golem Ambusher was too many ranged units.
6. there are more and stronger drops at Legends, when there ARE any drops; at FPS you get wimpier drops.

Thanks for the help on all that. It's certainly good to understand the options at work here. I would definitely not want to be paying a place that reverse engineered Seed's code, but if you offer the better deal legitimately, obviously I'd rather play here. I'll weigh my options. Perhaps see you in the future.
