Well, since my last 3 ideas have faded away into nothingness, I figured the time was ripe to post my long-completed Mysteria Tree. I know Legacy prolly won't like this unit, and you'll see why when he responds :P (think Clerics).

Marching through a forest to battle, a column of soldiers came to a complete halt for no apparent reason. Everyone who approached these soldiers froze as well, and then started snoring. Eventually, the army realized what was happening and moved everyone away from the area. After tying some handkerchiefs on, a select few soldiers went and dug up some of the trees, placing them upon the great war wagons usually used to hold troops. As the wagons rolled onto the battlefield, the enemy quickly dozed off and began to twitch...

Mysteria Tree- (Plant)
Mysteria Tree Anatomy- It's a tree. Think wood.

Endgame Unit: No
Maximum Number per Army: 1- This unit may not be used with the Thorny Vine nor the Lightning Ward.
HP: 80
Armor: 0
Blocking: 0%
Recovery: 4
Movement: 0*
Attack Range: 2
Attack Pattern[u]: All units within 2 squares (Enchantress)
[u]Attack: 0 for Sleep (unblockable) -10 for Nightmares (unblockable) +8 for Dreams (unblockable)
1. Sleep- All units and contraptions within its 2 square range is put to sleep. While asleep, these units have 0% blocking, and cannot move or attack. This skill is Focus, however, the Tree can end it's focus at any time, does not need to be recovered. Telling the tree to move or attacking the Tree will end Focus. If a unit is attacked, it wakes up. A unit that has been put to sleep cannot wake themselves. Units that are asleep are not counted as endgame units until they are awoken. Friendly units are put to sleep before enemy units, therefore, if at the end of a game, a player puts all units on the board to sleep, that player loses.

2. Nightmares- For this to occur, a Tree must put an enemy unit to sleep. The following turn, if Focus has not been broken, 10 damage (armor applied) is dealt to the enemy units that are asleep. This will continue unless Focus is broken (recasting Sleep breaks Focus, damage will not be applied that turn). This damage is applied at the beginning of the Tree's team turn.

3. Dreams- For this to occur, a Tree must put a friendly unit to sleep. The following turn, if Focus has not been broken, 8 health is healed (armor applied) for each friendly unit under Focus. This will continue unless Focus is broken (recasting Sleep breaks Focus, damage will not be applied that turn). This healing is applied at the beginning of the team's turn.

*Unit Placement: This unit may not be placed to where a unit can "hide" behind the Area of Effect, forcing a Melee unit (1 square range) to have to move into the A.o.E. in order to attack.

No real purpose, the attack is to strong, leave healing to clerics, blah blah blah.

You were right about me, I don't like it. Generally, I don't like new wards (and despite the name it is a new ward). It is a neat and creative idea, but what does it add to the game? Most of my comlaint is that you haven't given me any reason to vote for it. I know that general prctice is often to let the community debate the tactical uses and merits of a unit, but when a unit is so passive such as this, I really feel that it is nessaary that you convince me (this is the firgureative me, not the omnipresent) of why your unit is good.

Right now , all I am seeing is a roadblock. The dream and nightmare abilities of this unit are both easily avoidable by the opponent since niether occurs until the second turn. It basically provides more of a disraction than anything else. With a range of 2 and no movement, avoiding being put to sleep will be exactly as challengin as avoiding an unmoving chanty, which as any player can tell you, is not hard at all.

This seems more like a unit that would be good for WarCraft 3 or something, maybe you should ask Blizzard for a job.

lol, a 16 year old designing units for Blizzard, that'd be so sweet :) Oh well, I didn't think it'd be particularly useful, just kinda tryin to figure out someway to get plants into the game :p Try, try again.

I own it, played it, nearly beat the game, but... I like W2 much better. Never did play the original (I have the disc, but it was too old of a program).

First off, Card, what is with you and plants? Are you a hortophiliac?

Second, Kyir, I thinkthe majority of gamers can claim many a day stolen by Blizzard. Between Diablo 2 and W3, I could have had a masters by now, if not a doctorate.

Well, since my last 3 ideas have faded away into nothingness, I figured the time was ripe to post my long-completed Mysteria Tree."Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all."

Uhm how did a tree learn to discriminate between enemy and friendly units?

Ever since it became part of an electronic video game. Since when did 3 wooden poles, 3 chains, and a gem learn how to shoot lightning bolts from the sky? lol

But the ligntning bolt from the sky doesn't discriminate. It attacks everything for 30 damage.

You of all people should know that this game doesnt have to be logical CP (since when can Bee's spawn offspring 3 spaces away from them? )

When instead of just laying the eggs, the Queen does a sort of front flip to give the eggs more distance.
