My timezone is GMT +1, which isn't ideal, but I can make it anytime up to 11pm usually. Which, I believe, is 5pm EST. However, in 2 weeks time I can be on much later.

Part of me would definitely prefer bigger teams because with four judges, the method of selecting players is pretty even I think. It would be less even with six so I would need to come up with an alternative way.

And I don't think 16 person teams will be THAT hard to manage.

And there will be no picking teams until tomorrow because signups don't close until then.

I still don't think further signups should have been allowed. It's probable that people will trade 2 for 1 during the trading part anyway, so we won't get perfectly equal teams.

I still don't think further signups should have been allowed. It's probable that people will trade 2 for 1 during the trading part anyway, so we won't get perfectly equal teams.

(Yes, I just don't want to have to face Omega. :p)
I don't know what you guys think but I think only same number of players trades should be allowed. If we let it go the other way people could do 3 for 1s and stuff and have a small but killer team. Then their oppenent would have to sit out too many people and it wouldn't be fair to the lesser skilled players who don't get to play. I think we could always find ways of trading even with the same number of people on both sides as a requirement.

To make a trade, both leaders would need to agree and both leaders would need to consider it worthwhile. I have faith in all four leaders, I don't think any of them will end up duped into doing something really stupid. As far as fairness goes, everyone knew what they were getting into when they signed up and didn't change their minds. Some people will get to play more, that is inevitable. If you can make trading even, by all means try to make it work out that way when you offer trades. But I have to leave it open as a possibility.

you know what we should do sometime... we should have a tourney like this but tag team style (dont think this is but im not a leader so i dont have to be perfect on the rules untill it actually starts). that way everyone plays and the leaders can do deals like 3 for 1 but have to remember that in a tag team they are trading 30 peices for 10(math genius :cool: )

You are correct Dragoen Link. It's easier if you replace the variables. When 2b beat 2a and there was no longer a 1b 2b became 1b.

Of coures it gets more complicated if 1a and 2a win. In that case 3b would become 1b and 4b become 2b on and on...So 1a would in the next round be versing the old 3b and 2a would be versing the old 4b. The bottom players will basically be shafted and forced not to play that round. Did this help you to understand DL?

That's right for the odd-numbered rounds. I'm presuming a separate roster will need to be drawn up for even rounds (when everyone is freestyling).

And Exile, we won't need a different roster for freestyling. For the even numbered rounds, we'll just work with the freestyling roster. Remember, every player will have a ranking in each category, whether that's their specialty or not.

If you think you're a better turtler than omegagalaxy, rank yourself above him in the roster. If you think noda is better than you, rank him above you both. Rank everyone on your team in every category.

You don't have to follow that formula, you can mix things up if you want. It does HAVE to be best to worst but that's the basic idea.

Then for each round of the tournament you'll tell me which of your players will play what kind of matches. The initial rosters never change though.
