A couple days ago, when I was explaining the glories of push pops to my parents, I realized that I really had no clue why I liked them so much. In fact, most other ice cream types you can buy at say, a gas station, are a lot higher quality. Why is it that just about every single child loves them? Is it the pushy stick goodness, the yummy ice cream, the colorful outside? What do you think?

So I suppose my question is this. What type of ice cream do you usually head for when at a gas station, and why?

(If you choose the last option, you have to post what it is - or I'll hunt you down and make you eat a tub of beans.)

I had to go with the chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich.
It's a no-brainer.
It's not just a cookie.
It isn't simply a sandwich.
It's not merely ice cream. No.
Hell no.

Everyone thinks Australia is hot. Okay, I must agree, we are kind of hot (insert sarcasm wink here) but in Winter it's pretty cold. Yes, we do have ice creams, but we have different brands of ice creams.

These are all definitions as I know them. Different localities will probably explain these differently.
Push Pops: Orange sherbet ice cream packed into a cardboard tube similar to the size of a toilet paper roll with a plunger at the bottom to push the ice cream up for eating
Choc. . .: Exactly how it sounds. Two choc. chip cookies (slightly larger than normal) with vanilla ice cream packed in the middle usually rolled in choc. chips again along the edge where the ice cream is exposed
Strawberry Shortcake: Slightly strawberry flavored vanilla ice cream on a stick with cake like bread crumblies completely covering the outside of the bar in pink and white hues. suppose to simulate a strawberry shortcake desert where a biscuit is place at the bottom of the bowl and smothered with strawberries in sauce and topped with ice cream and whipped cream.
Häagen-Dazs: a brand of ice cream (not really the best brand of ice cream IMO)
Dole Fruit Bars: frozen fruit juice on a stick. varieties of flavors
Original Ice cream bars: chocolate wafer like cookies with vanilla ice cream sandwiched between the cookies are very very processed types of almost a shortbread variety. however the ice cream and freezing process results in a cookie that is highly moist and almost cake like. but a dense cake.

my high school didnt have ice creams, I went to the Vo-tech, or a trade school, or the Slow-tech, or some other name, but i was in the culinary program, and we made the food, and we had one class make hamburgers and other fast food items, then for a higher price we had salisbury steaks, chicken parmesan, smoked salmon, or other items like that, but we didnt get ice creams, we had fresh cake, brownies, tarts, mousses, and other good stuff like that, all home-made because the class would make it for us, plus we only had like 200 kids at that school, which is why it was uber cool. but i voted for push-ups, because i, too, think they rock, along with twinkies.

MY favourites are strawberry and orange. Even though my right hand is allergic to orange when I peel it, I still wouldn't give up eating anything thats orange. Go strawberry and orange ice cream. If you don't like these two, please call hotline 1800-go-fruit where you will be talking to a bunch of orange and strawberry freaks all day long until you like them. Please do so. :p
