How to Swallow Pills

Really, I just don't get it.
How do you swallow a pill? I put it in my mouth, drink the water, but the pill always remains on my tongue.
I get to make a thread every once in a while too!
I had a headache and it took me 3 glasses of water just to down one pill, and the only reason I could was cause most of it had already dissolved. :confused:

I take half a mouth full of water first, tilt head back, drop in Pill. Swallow, swallow.

Practice with M&M's.

It's not like it's the first time I've done it, and actually SOMEtimes I can get them down fast. But usually it takes me 5 minutes per pill.

I put water in first, thn the pill, tilt head back, open throught, and it just goes donwn when i swallow water

I had the same problem. Wanted to chew. I think it was mainly mental. You have to realize that this isn't going to choke you. Don't back your tongue up over the throat so the pill has to make it up that hill. You swallow bigger chunks of meat when you eat a steak than that little pill.

Now give me 20 pushups and a hoo-rah!

drink more water at once. Like just start chugging it down.

Its not in ur bodies nature to swallow food whole, so you gotta train urself.
Also, smaller people might have trouble with some pills.

Try drinking water from a straw with the pill in your mouth.

I put the pill at the tip of my tounge and take a drink of water then its down.

I guess I've never had much of a problem with it... put it on tongue, gulp of water and it's down.

go to a rave.. every one does beans there.. you'll pick it up
but i find it easiest to mush them you with some jam, make a pill into a paste and eat the paste...

Anyways, I work in a pharmacy, and some of the pills are sticky and get stuck to my fingers just when I touch them, so you definitely want to try to gulp it down w/ the water. Practicing pill swallowing is a bit silly, but whatever floats your boat.

Try blueberries if you have having trouble with the mental and being able to chew. try and progress in size with the blueberries. then if you REALLY cant get it you can always cut open a blueberry and stick in the pill ;). It took me a while to get it as well. Im not perfect but it only takes one try per pill now.

Now swallowing a cyanide pill is an entirely different matter. You would have to be emotionally and physically prepared to kill yourself just to avoid capture/interrogation/your mom. I guess it's impossible to get somebody to tell you what swallowing one of those is like, too.

But, for regular pills, whenever I get in trouble or something, a little bit of actual food helps get it down (sometimes water isn't enough to get it all the way through the throat for me).

Wouldn't it suck if you were about to be captured by some terrorists or whatever and you couldn't get your cyanide pill down because of gag reflexes or something?

Ten... umm can you say "Overdose" lol. If you're taking ten pills of anything at once, unless they're like placebos or something, that's not a good thing :confused:

You and Max are nubs alike. Never do I say, "At once." That's just you and the medias influence over you. And you can get pills that are very week, so you may sometimes need to care more of them, or I need different types if I get sick.

And to top it off, wash it down with some flax seed oil and a arthritis-reducing liquid medication. :cool:

That just sounds like you'd explode or something.

Edit: This situation is theoretical. I don't actually take these or know anybody who does. Also, gullable has no entry in the 1997 American Heritage Dictionary.

I often take 10 painkillers at a time. Doses of 5000mg each is about the only way I get any relief from Ibuprofen.

I've never had trouble getting pills down. When you take 'em dry they tend to make your throat feel like there's something stuck in it for the rest of the day, no matter what you eat or drink after that. I try not to do that as much anymore.

Actually I try to avoid pills as much as possible now. Pain doesn't bother me that much (and before you start trying to tell me that's because I've never felt real pain, how many of you have had things exploding in your ovaries?) so I just don't take anything unless people start yelling at me. I'd much rather deal with things myself than start popping pills.

I usually don't like taking medication either. If I'm sick or something, I'll let myself take care of it.

Only reason I wanted anything now is cause I had a headache (which I get often) and was going out somewhere for thr night and didn't want it bothering me. :)

No no, my ovaries didn't explode, it was a cyst inside one of my ovaries. They thought it was appendicitis at first, except they did an ultrasound and found residual goo from the ruptured cyst. There's not supposed to be goo in your ovaries. It hurts like hell.

Literally, in the emergency room they told me aside from childbirth it's one of the most painful things EVAR. I think they were lying though, because they're not counting things like, you know, being flayed alive. Or having your fingernails pulled out. Or..... *shutting up*
