ok, several people have broguht up good points and this doesn't really look like it will work. soo i guess we can make this either a grey or freestyle tag tourney. if i can figure out how to change the poll then i will make it so you can vote for grey or free.

i will try to host this but i may need help. so there will be either 8 or 16 teams since i'm not savy with that round robin stuff tb puleld for the last tag tourney

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't the idea of a tag-team tournament to tag your teammates? This is just a 3-man team tournament, not a "tag" one.

it is supposed to be player 1,2,3 on team a and 4,5,6 on team b

player 1 plays player 4 for the freestyle section, 1 wins with 4 units, then 1 palys 5 and 5 wins with 9 units, then palyer 5 palys player 2.. etc team a wins the freestyle section

repeat for turtle; team b wins the turtle section

repeat for grey; team a wins the grey section

team a wins the round

I see, that cleared things up for me. Sounds pretty damn cool geeky. It would make for really really long round however.

I was jus wondering if there could be 3 people on the field at once, and then the teams still take turns.

that would be cool.

30 units for each team

60 units total :D

Problem is, does player 5 have to use turtle units since his job is to turtle, and these units would be carried over?

I don't like the idea. Make it either a three-man-team tourney, or make it a freestyle tag. You can't cross both.

I vote for you make a tag team grey tourney, i just saw a nice one and really thought it nice, it is very good thing, and well every very skilled enough player have abillities in greys, what make it more competeable.

exiled, the 6 players would all paly free, then turtle, then grey but with the units carrying over. i don't know what a 3 man tourney is

So each match-up is 3 rounds of different styles? Sorry bud, but that's a TERRIBLE idea. It's hard enough to get one round with ONE style done, let alone 3.

what if we have a test game between two teams to see if this can be done? what about my team and rtt? then we can really see if this is doable or not? but i know you guys are busy with the rev vs legends thing

Okay, a few major problems. First, it's basically just a tag team tournament times 3, with each area. This means it isn't really anything amazingly new. Second, it would be impossible to get all the teams to play their games on time. Up to 15 games per match...it's just impossible. Third, it really wouldn't work well with turtle games. I once played warcow in what might have been the closest turtle game I've ever played. I won by 9 units (a dragon and 7 other units), but he was close to winning regardless. Turtle games aren't measured by units, they're often measured by position, and once one person gets into the better position, it's just a massacre. This would make tag team tournaments a bit impractical.

Anyway... with the tag team, unit preservation is important, so even a completely one-sided rush vs turtle doesn't really mean any real advantage, as rushes tend to lose more units... and usually will get flawlessed next roud. Just leave it at freestyle.

With just 1 set of teams, you can make it work. With 8 or 10 sets of teams, each possibly facing a 15-game set, it simply is not going to work. Past tag tourneys with only 1 set of games took forever to wind down. Why do you suppose that TRIPLING that will make anything work?

Also, as pointed out, turtle tag matches are kind of silly, since many close games wind up with the victor still having 8 or 9 units left.

fry, this was mainly jsut an idea i thought of, a proposal ;). you said somethign abotu a 3 man tourney... would that be better? i jsut really like the idea of having an all around tourney because that would find the best palyers not jsut the best freestylers :) like i said, jsut an idea

So why do signups now? Half the people will forget that they signed up by the time this thing actually happens. Just chill on this for now. It'll be at least a month, probably several before you can do anything with this.
