HeroOfDestiny (http://www.tacticsarena.com/forum/member.php?u=12605) raised a very interesting suggestion; I think we should really give it some consideration.
Because I see the same thing over and over agian in the room, I think they should add a bot that automatically does certain things
If X is typed robot does Y
"How do you play?"
Robot gives approite links
"Can I join a clan"
Robot tells the new to raise his points and not to annoy people or he won't be clanned
"cyber"
Robot boots that person for a bit and tells them to go to teenchat
"F5" or "Alt+f4"
Robot explains what it does and warns people not to press it. If the word "press" is before those, robot boots the person who typed even if their in a game (suck it you n00b harrasing cheats)
"new units" (as in "how do I get new units?")
Robot explains about drops and gold accounts
etc
This would give us a lot less hassle
I really like this concept, and I figure we should vote on it. Vote honestly please.

I think the only problem is people would just keep asking those questions to spam the lobby.
But maybe, if the person who types it camn only see what the robot said, then I like the idea.

It would take time to program and it will cost money to maintain.
It depends how much money and time is going to be used on this bot.

I think this thing would just end up spamming out the links when people said stuff.
You'd have to base it off keywords or else program the response to a LOT of specific phrases (since whatever may be thought, the things asked about use more words than the ones listed above), and the keywords would likely have to be so open ended that it'd end up spamming out its responses to normal conversation, which would be a nuisance.
As for cybering..if you're gonna make a bot, why not just it boot them, rather than spam out some lame response?

For the cyber thing, it does both. The idea thought is to send them to a chatroom with lots and lots of cyber, so they don't back asking for "cy ber" or something

Bot's would cause to much problems to the server to actually be used, that is why the "Trinity" bot on legends was removed when Tant made it way back in 2003.
I'm not sure of the extent of the bots influence but apprently there would be scripting issue's and the bot would probably mess around with the program to much.
Anyways Seed has said a permanent no to Bot's on legends, but of course that doesn't go for FPS.

The bot they made might have had problems. I can make a bot very easy with no problems. I've made AI bots many times, and this is much less complicated. It could either be client server, or rest in the client. Resting it in the client might be a better idea.

Interesting concept. If it could be done correctly, espicailly with the "Respond only to user who asked question (ie, others can't see it), I would support this idea to cut down on spammers, flamers, and random n00bs asking questions.

Bot's would just be to complex and irritating to the source coding.
Nuff said.

Hmm. I guess we could just set up ! commands, so experienced users could initiate it when noobs ask. Plus, we could make it so that like you can't activate it more than once every 10 seconds, or like cumulatively measuring or something, so no one could use it to spam.
Hmmmm, if done correctly, absolutely. But it'd take a lot of consideration in a lot of areas and probably a lot of time and money to do it correctly.
Would it be cool? Yes. Will it ever happen? Probably not.
