I'm probably going to actually get my own skiis this years. I've just been renting stuff for the last couple of years cause of growing. But yea, I'm ready to go out. :D
I am Australian, we are not big on snow here, we only get snow like in the mountains. I can make it up there 1 day a year, just for a holiday. :D

Thats for the helpful info on skis Soda ;)
I got my own pair of skis, last years model worth 1200$ all together, got it for 200 at Sports Authority.
Try going around to your sports stores and looking for last years packages, because they are usually 50+$ off.

Yea... I got to say skateboarding is better than snowboarding. I ski, but I can snowboard fairly well for never really practicing it I think. It's just not as fun as skateboarding. :D
Although, I don't really skate much anymore. But I can still do the good old olley. You never forget how to do that. ;)

I snowboarded once. I used my skateboard deck to do it. It was semi-fun, until I got kicked out.

Trust me, I love to skate too. I just like snowboarding better. It's easier to do tricks, and I'm just not scared of it for some reason, no matter what I'm doing. I've been skating all day today and yesterday. So shut up and read my lips: I want to make passionate love to you.

Snowboarding is for babies afraid to skateboard.
Let's compare snow to concrete, and see which one hurts more.
Come on, a skate vs snow discussion will be healthy, right?

I do both. Both hurt. More speed in snowboarding offers more chances to tear ACLs (I have done this). Skateboarding offers you most any injury that you could think of. Both hurt.

Fine, let's compare the opportunity to do so.
Snowboarding requires a specific time of year, specific conditions, and specific locations in order to do.
Skateboarding requires any somewhat flat patch of ground, stairs, railings, benches, streets, sidewalks, parking lot, garages that are available in almost anywhere.
Hell, you can even get offroad and downhill boards, and tear up the slopes in the summer.

Nothing can hurt more than what I've done skateboarding. Tie a rope to your belt. Tie the other end to a quad. Here is the flaw in the plan. Rocks. When the skateboard hits a rock, it does not continue moving. However, you do continue moving, because you're tied to the quad. We really should have thought that one out more. Luckily, I was wearing a full face helmet. I walked out of it with 2 broken fingers(one being shattered) and almost no skin on my arms, back, and some skin on my legs.

More like the show, "The World of Stupid." We tried recording our dumb mistakes. The thing is, we never think they are dumb, so we never recorded the ones that were actually dumb.
There is actually a plan for snowboarding this winter, it involves bottle rockets. We got the idea from the world book of records.

Rocks suck. Probably around 80% of the times I'd fall, it'd be because of hitting a stupid rock (more like pebble). But that's probably just cause I sucked. :D

flow bindings are the shit. They are so comfortable and nice. They are a bit more expensive than normal ones though. For board, it's just all about preference and what you are going to do with it. Get some sexy spy goggles.

Thats one thing I don't like about snowboarding. Bindings.. it doesn't feel right.
However, I'll be taking up some snowboarding this winter, just cause its hard to skate during the winter. Snowboarding will take up some time.

If you can feel yer feet, your boots are too big. Simple as that. I love skiing as well as snowboarding. However, I blow at snowboarding. I might as well throw myself naked down a staircase over and over. I'm a damn fine skier though.

I know, and that's not comfy. :D
But whatever, cause you don't notice it when you're actually skiing (usually). Atomic boots are usually pretty comfy though. I've used a pair of those for the past two years (different pairs) and they were real nice.
I'm probably going to buy Atomic all around (boots, bindings, skiis) this year cause I had all Atomic rental stuff last year and liked it, but it all depends what I can find.

Yea, then they're ok. You can't really grind a rail in skiis. Ok, you can, but if you have nice skiis you probably wouldn't want to. ;)
