Now, I'm a mad DDR fan. Been so since I've first seen the game almost 8 years ago. But this seems...well, cliche even for the obviously highly cliche game genre we got here.
Though I must say that IGN can frickin suck it. I've yet to see a good review of any music game form them yet.
Also..side note, fun music game you might want to try out.

its annoying that you can just mash all of the buttons constantly and get a good score.

Sorry, I just don't like games that warp perfectly reputable characters only as some stupid marketing ploy. Let's face it, the *gameplay* of this, or mario tennis, mario golf, or other games, would not change if other new/unique characters were used. That is to say, the concept and play of the game would be exactly the same, with different skins. In my eyes tho the use of these characters is only used as a method to sell the games more; but at the same time dilutes the *quality* of each character. I'm sorry, I just can't take Mario saving the world from Bowser as seriously if he has friendly tennis matches with him on the weekends.
I would say the only acception of this feeling would come from Smash Brothers, which does a very good job of integrating the various NES characters.
So, the game might be great, but I just don't like the comercialism of it.

If you want to put it that way. Yes they do mess up cartoon/music characters/idols by doing things like that just for marketing.

Hahahaha...
Anyway.
Ever tried ITG, Mega?
Much better than DDR. (And, as you know, I am a hard-core DDR fan.)

Hi Duff! :)
I've actually never seen FFR. And I discovered that I have more rhythm in my feet than my fingers. :o
And Mega, if you're anywhere near NY, there's a DDR tournament in NY on november 5 at the Nintendo Expo. My friend's going, and I might too. It's going to be on tv or something like that.

In the groove is cool, but I hate bombs ;)
FFR definitely is too easy. I picked it up a few years ago while I was on the road, but got bored with it once I could play on a machine again.
If you're gonna play ddr on your comp, might as well just dl beatmania and get some songs for it.
And totally opposite side of the country Mushroom ;) but thnx for the FYI. Besides, everyone knows west coast plyers pwn the east :p
