Just like Legends, if someone speaks too much in a cerertain amount of time, they get disconnected.
Okay? If possible, maybe sergiy or bills could set up a system like: 5 lines in 4 seconds = disconnect.

Eh, flooding, works most of the time, except sometimes a person is "playfully spamming" for like 10 lines, which creates a serious annoyance for that person. Plus spammers could just narrowly avoid the limit, or something.
Sounds nice though; a good idea nevertheless.

Actually. God, I hate to say it, but this is something AOL did and it worked. If an account typed more than once in .403 seconds atleast 4 times in a row, it would be kicked off for scrolling. Now, here is how to make it a good idea. Once an account reaches 1200 stats, the account becomes overhead, and doesnt get kicked off for scrolling.

This wouldn't work, as the most annoying spammers are golds who have had their passwords found.
The other reason why this won't work is that a grey can still use up 4 lines of lobby chat every 7 seconds, which this wouldn't be able to stop.
Nice try, been suggested before, move on.

Thats a whole different problem.

... Thats definitly not true? When I was grey, it took like 10 seconds to send one line . . . .

No, that's what FA was talking about in his first post, I think. Grey spammers are annoying, but not as bad as gold ones. And gold ones generally have a rating above 1200 anyway... or if they don't and they want to spam, they'll just boost their account until they do.
High ratings should NEVER have any benefit, or it encourages cheating more.

It's definitely 7 seconds.

... and those are completely different problems. Problem #1: password cracking; Problem #2: stat boosting. This only fixes one problem, it doesn't magically fix everything. Also, golds generally don't have over 1200 stats.

Alright, and that statement has no backing at all. I'll make a similar statement: High ratings should get mod abilities, cause without it they will cheat.
It's definitely 7 seconds.
Okay, 7 seconds. What you said is still not true.
"4 lines of lobby chat every 7 seconds"
It would be 1 line every 7 seconds.

dirka, greys can say @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ and take up 4 lines if they go to the maximum text limit in one post, whaich gets them to 4 lines. If they said "hello lobby" then that takes one line, but if they truly wanted to spam, then they would say "@@@@@@@@@@@@" and on and on and on.

Very well, sidestep the issue. Golds spamming are a bigger problem than greys spamming. It doesn't matter about the rating boosting or password guessing issues at all; that's not the part of the argument you need to discredit. If a 1200 gold decides they're fed up with the game, and don't mind losing their account, they simply spam freely under your suggestion.
I might add that on Banff, my home server, around 75% of the golds I see are above 1200.

I can't see what you're trying to prove here. Do a quick search for threads saying "having a 1400+ account should give you benefit x". Everyone, and I mean everyone, replied with exactly the same comment I did.

Flawed logic. One message can contain up to 4 lines of text. One message every 7 seconds; 4 lines every 7 seconds.

and thats when a mod steps in. There is no way to prevent it totally. This doesn't magically fix everything, like I said before. It should cut down alot on it though. If you notice, alot of the rev spammers are 750 stat.

and the red is the flaw in your logic.

... and thats fine. This is a completely different thread. It isn't a benefit. Its giving full account ability to those who show they are actually playing the game.
Flawed logic. One message can contain up to 4 lines of text. One message every 7 seconds; 4 lines every 7 seconds.
and I'm the one with the flawed logic. You can send once every 7 seconds, I don't care how much can be sent.

I really can't be bothered wasting my time in a quote war, dirka, so I'm simply going to stop at this point and let others decide from our discussion what they think :)

The fact is, you can't deny that this will fix some spamming. Nobody said it was a magic fix to everything, however it is a fix.

What about golds who are just responding to multiple questions? Then they might type "lol, hi, yes, wassup, no man" in 4 seconds. That wouldn't be fair to disconnect them. I think our current system of screenshots and PMing mods works just fine.

So instead of sending the message every second, they have to know to wait a few seconds. Small price to pay for the annoyance that spammers cause, in my opinion.

Actually, it would work better than reporting the spammer to be deleted.
Legends also IP bans someone for a certain length if they spam too much. An IP ban would rid the PERSON spamming on the account, but allow the real account person to still get on it.
It would also prevent people from using multiple accounts to spam.
