Here's something different...Instead of me asking how I could get my formation better, how would you go about defeating my setup?

My turt would be on your scout's side, so I would hit him with my own scout and advance my witch to hit im, and then, if you advanced, my turtle would definitely hold against that setup, and if you sat there, I would flank to the right, and take out your witch. I would then go knight v. knight with my scout to keep your chanty at bay...hope it would work. But that is just a general layout, anything that happens might change my gameplan. :)

Against my grey corner formation... I would kill you.
I would work over your scout and knight rush you DMW, then pull back and heal.
Then come out again.
I would say maybe putting you knights into like a "V" formation with you l/w at the tip. That might help.
Personally, I don't use center grey formations, they are too easy to crack.

The scout is awfully vulnerable. I'd send the LW and front line knights after him, and if he dies, it's just a matter of time.

Your scout would be on my turt side, I would lw it, then either scout it, or send a knight up. Once i kill your scout..you quit, and i win. :D

Kill the scout and the witch, then chanty pwn you
I advise you move your turt to a corner- and I beat you by doing what I do best... 0wning:bigsmile:

I'd almost think that he made this form to contrast from other grey turtles?
Turtling in the corner in grey games is so boring.

well maybe in Turt vs. Turt but otherwise I love it;)

since my turt is on the other side i will go as if i was playing that side(other side is still really weak). first i would close my flank off completely in 2-3 moves and then advance a scout ass and knight halfway. if you still went for flank i would kill your ass and heal. if you went for the peices i was advancing i would draw in a single knight and take them out one at a time. once im up 1-2 units on you i'll break out and start actively rushing and killing your witch and scout and at least one more knight. now you have either chanty knight and cleric and guessing me i probably have a scout chanty witch and either 0-1-2 knights left depending how how well you play. if i have at least 1 knight left then ill run it down to kill your cleric with my scout waiting for chanty back abuse.i'll most likely lose my scout and knight for your cleric chanty if you are good and now its witch chanty cleric bw lw vrs your low life bw, lw and knight. ill then start maoving my chanty up to get your knight and zapping your lw with my witch. game over

I use a spread. Having said that, my two primary targets would be the Witch and Scout on one side, or the Assassin on the other side (these units are the most exposed). If I could take any one of these without any exchange, I'd bring my Scout in and try pick off the Enchantress and keep pressure on your Barrier Ward with my Knights. If I could take the Cleric and BW without TOO much damage being done (at least 2 melee units, my Scout, and a Mage intact damage-wise), I could sweep the Knights with little trouble, as my Cleric would be relatively safe.

Go for Dmw first, easyies to kill, then assassin or scout, depending on what side i'm on. Then I would try and flank you. lastly i'd rush with my knights, make some trades, and have my chanty finish you off.

I start by telling you to press F5. When that doesn't work, I slowly take each turn to the maximum time limit, conserving my pieces so my clock lasts longer. After 4 or 5 hours, you leave in sheer frustration and for some reason I feel a little more satisfied with myself

No, the best way to beat this formation would be with a big stick.
yeh my turt would prolly be on ur strong side, so, i would send assasin and knight up, and just flank u like id flank any other centre form, ud either send ur one scout to try to flank me in which case the witch and knight left behind would slaughter, or ud go straight in with ur knights and assasin, in which case id blow up ur setup from behind.
that centre form doesnt really have enough flank coverage. allthough i like htat it could really rush. i mean u could beat lotsa peeps if u changed it alittle and really commited urself to rushing hard core.
id move scout over two so its one infront of witch and move bward up one so that it may help more on offence

I'd likely just attack one side, overwhelm the units on that side, then whiddle away at everything else. Likely drop a scout onto the back once the side was gone to take out the cleric/chantress and possibly BW as well.

Thats one reason. I also find that if I turtled, it would take too long to move my units to the other side if the opponent's turtle was on the wrong side. Also, I win more with my current spread formation than with a turtle

Here is an interesting spead I ran into a couple months ago:

It is actually VERY powerful against turtles.
Took me by surprise and almost beat me.

How did your opponent use it? having a DW in the right place, and all 3 knights in the front row, supported by a couple of pyros would beat that quite easily...

Well , Like always , with my grey turt , I would end up getting my 3 knights on the same side as your scout. So , I wold work from there , pushing some things up and put a little pressure upon your pieces. As the game rolls on , Ill take the scout , and the game will be mine.
I would although like to play you grey on grey , If you are on great lakes , or whatever , give me a holler , my gold name is : Cara_Grystorm and my grey name is : Flesh
