I think that when you are creating a new name on one of the servers you should be able to check the availability of a name without attempting to log in. This is because during highly active times you may attemp to create a name/log in for 5 minutes only to have it say the name is unavailable. Adding this would somewhat decrease inconvenience for the members of this community.

If you really want a certain name isn't it worth the wait to see if you can get it?

more to the point, if the server is that lagged you won't get a reply from it any faster for a simple name check

I wasnt talking about lag, i was talking about the server being full at the moment, but you wont find out if you can create that name until their is an opening.

That what their talking about:bigsmile:. Ya that could help but it seem pointless because when the server is full you just hold down the enter key and you have a high shot of getting in in 10 to 30 secs. So its pointless you know but It was a idea and because it was that I think it was ok try some others your bound to hit a good idea lol.

I understand how this could benefit TAO, but there's two things wrong with the suggestion.
1) The admins will probably never do it.
2) We, as you said, already have the thing that says "Name Unavailabe".
