What do you really hate about TAO? (as in things that happen, not the actual game)

My pet hates:

- Newbies who don't know how to play jumping you
- Newbies making stupid moves like attacking their own units (not even to create assassin bomb etc)
- People who come on exclusively to hook up with "fit girls" or "buff boys". Why? Why not make some real friends?
- People who surrender or simply leave the battle, with no explanation, simply because 1 of their units was killed, or because they are scared of your formation. This is especially annoying when they jump you

I know that my hates are almost all around newbies, and that is unfair, since most newbies are willing to learn, want to play and improve, and i have had some good games against newbies, and this post is not aimed at those.

I realise I sound like an old guy, moaning about everything, but TAO could be so much better if people came on to play properly, not to hook up or waste the other person's time

I hate.....

-People who whine about blocking.... non stop. Blame every loss on "bad luck", and piss and moan when their witches/pyros don't block from the side.

-Golds who jump grays, talk trash the whole time and then toss an insult about your mother at you before leaving, when it becomes obvious they're about to get thrashed.

-People who complain about newbies who can't play, and make stupid moves. All the while completely ignoring the fact that it would take no longer to toss them some tips and help them out. Today’s newbies might just be the next {insert name of phenomenal player here}, why not speed up the process a bit?

-People who think stats are the end all, be all way to rank the quality of a player.

-People who are obsessed with reputation. The system fails when anyone/everyone has 18 green blocks and tosses rep around like it's candy during a Veteran’s parade.

-Golds who make their password a standard luggage combination, then whine when they get "hacked" and the person that happened to luck into guessing 12345 spams up the lobby.

-People who complain about newbies who can't play, and make stupid moves. All the while completely ignoring the fact that it would take no longer to toss them some tips and help them out. :dry: I get where you're coming from...I'm onto you... but seriously, some the newbies I have played in my time refuse to take advice - one I remember, told me to stop being so arrogant and thinking I was so good, after i ponted out that attacking my lightning ward with a knight two times in a row would get him nowhere.

Others take the advice, use it once, then forget it and make the same mistakes again.

Most are gd though and thank you for the advice, then go on to whoop you ( not really, but i'm sure its happened. I find it useful to tell them about the assassin bomb after using it, or when their assassin is dead/ none of their units can attack my critically damaged assassin. :p )

Or try to post a link to another site these players may like so they go there, and dont do stupid things on TAO. otherwise, just dont come here. I hope you two have a good time here though.:) TAO can be ALOT of fun, as long as you learn to ignore a good amount of this.

I'll try to keep such enlightened and well thought out advice in mind. Thanks, I just wish I got such a warm welcome when I actually started playing.

Isn't you listing what you hate about the forums, even if it's whining topics, only further contributing to that very thing you hate? If you hate it that much, then don't post anything, ignore the people who have and go on about your day. Adding comments to it only further the "negativity" that you so hate on these forums.

But welcome to the forums, they can be ALOT of fun, as long as you learn to ignore a good amount of the hypocrites.

I see where this is going. I'm going to be tied to an imaginary stake, and stoned to death. ( if only there was a smiley for that eh?)

In my defence, i intended this thread to be a "place" where people can let go of their frustration about something that bugs them, i.e my newbie ignoring advice rant. I didn't mean it as a place to slag off the game itself, i think it's a great game.
