So I look at all the movies being made these days, and I just have to ask myself...what is wrong with hollywood? Is everything becoming a mock off? Is nothing original anymore?

So I rent Constantine the other day, it was ok seeing as KR stars in it -_-, but you know it just reminds me of him trying to be in the Matrix again, afterall you got 3 worlds, heaven, earth and hell all in one spot...so basically the story says that instead of machines controlling your life's, the gods and demons control it. So when you die in life terms, or "log out" in matrix terms, you either go to hell or heaven, the "real" world after the dream/life you live in.

Now as for actors, they get paid a lot of money, well lets reduce that sum, sure they do charity, donate for causes, and overall try to be amazing people, but they just need there money so much, dropping 100k on dresses or buying ridiculusy useless modified motorcars.

Anyways, what do you think, hollywood is just becoming a rip off? Or quality works at every turn are in the making, you be the judge.

I think you have many valid points. But the thing that seems to be in right now for americans is investing in CRAP.

We do produce some quality films that are great, llike Lord of the rings and other movies which capture the hearts and interet of millions of people.

Meh, I agree though on the most part, alot of shit movies that somehome make peopel incredibly rich... go figure...

I'm thinking some re-modling needs to be done with the focus of all these new crappy movies coming out. We need more movies like the breakfast club, and super troopers ;-)

It all depends on what pleases you I guess :-/

Before this gets out of hand...

Hollywood sucks. Perversion lurks around every corner, and not strictly sexual perversion either. Basically, all movies nowadays are based on advertising and the fact that if you put 3 good lines in a movie and advertise the heck out of them, then people will buy tickets. If they leave the theatre, who cares? The money has already been handed over. The entire premise of Hollywood is that good advertising (far beyond, even, the point of trickery) is what will make a movie. So naturally, they dump money into advertising, which returns itself about 3 times over, enough to pay ridiculous amounts to actors (who are, for the most part, talking heads nowadays... good actors are RARE), and make more movies that are further advertised, etc.

Sure, there have been a few good movies... but somehow the silver lining doesn't impress me a whole lot when the cloud just keeps getting darker.

yeah...most of these thoughts I was having 2 or 3 years ago, and was under the impression most other people were too. What's the point of discussing it now?

Well, that was retarded.

I agree. The only good movie I saw this year was Sin City. They all suck now.

Inglorious Bastards will be good.

I think Hollywood has it figured out

make a quick action film, advertise the hell out of it, and make a boatload of money

I cant wait till I graduate and go out to LA.

crass, that reminds me I need to get my internship applications in

Americans will watch anything, sadly.

WE CAN"T EVEN MAKE A GOOD WAR MOVIE ANYMORE!
Look at Jarhead, the epitome of every Hollywood problem....

Stick to classics, John Wayne will never do you wrong...

Dude, Constantine was awsome, it's not KR's fault that he has moved from one typecast to another.
