It was announced some weeks ago locally that Bernie Mac was going to be performing a 3 hour show. It was hyped in all the newspapers, on the radio, and posters all around town.

Well, turns out the whole things was a scam. The person claiming to be representing Bernie Mac collected the money on Thursday, and disappeared. Turns out Bernie Mac was never involved, and the person responsable walked away with about $15,000.

BTW-
The phone number the scammer used turned out to be a disposable cell phone. The fax numbers came back to a Kinkos in New York.

There are no leads as to who he really was.
