I liked how the story came out and I liked how you can see how other people play the game differently. I love the policemans character and how well it develops! The movie has very little to do with a saw. Its about how people play the game. And the game is life and the struggle to survive and how people only act when death is so close and don't care about life as long as they have it. I can't really explain, but it is so good, nothing compares that I have seen.

Saw 2 is amazing. I saw it on Halloween night, very creepy. I love movies that make you think, and this one makes you think. If you really get into the movie, and analyze the plot, the characters, and what is happening, it can scare the hell out of you. If you don't care about these things, then you might not like it. It is very gory, very loud, and very good.

I meant to see Saw 1, but I didn't. You don't really need to see the first one to know what is going on, I figured out everything that connected to the first one before it was made plain in the movie.

Why do you or your friends think it sucked? Is it because you're all pre-pubescent kids who don't like movies that require thought? There is a level of intelligence required to understand the movie - the people are faced with decisions, and depending on how they choose to act determines whwther they live or die. When you watch the movie, put yourself in their shoes, ask yourself if you could make those decisions - that makes the movie creepy, because it could be you on the screen, you could be the one bleeding to death. The movie is very, very well written, and the camera work is amazing - its just that the movie is about more than a horror flick, it is a story, and a pretty good one. The idea is crude, but it touches upon the very essence of human existence, what we do to survive.

I must assume that the people who don't like it were either:

a) not interested in the movie to begin with, so they didn't pay attention - too busy trying to makeout with the girl they bribed into making a public appearance with them, you wasted your money on her ticket and her dinner, you're not getting any

b) too stupid to understand the movie - thats why I thought the gore would appeal to you, but I guess they did talk a lot in the movie, that might have confused your tiny brain

c) were completely scared by the movie - you ruined a perfectly good pair of underwear, and can't think about the movie without gagging, so you say you hated it to avoid further conversation

d) you just don't like it, for whatever reason - I've got news for you people: we don't take kindly to people who don't like Saw 2

The opening scence is of a man having a metal device on his head in which the insides have spikes on them. He soon finds out the only way to open the device is to find the key. He soon finds out from jigsaw or john (the psycho) through the monitor in the room that the key is inside his eye. The only way to survive is to cut your eye out and get the key out. After a few minutes of screaming and cursing the man decides he can't do it. So the brace closes in on him and impales him to death. The rest of the movie consists of about 3 women, 3 guys, and one teenager trying to break out of a warehouse. They go through various 'tasks' to survive.
I suggest you watch the movie. The ending is pretty surprising. *Hint* One of the people trapped in the warehouse has something to do with the whole thing. Hopefully, I changed your mind about the movie.

Well, the first half of Flags of Our Fathers is out, and it is pretty good. About what I expected: Saving Private Ryan with an Eastwood twist. Great panoramic shots and some rather gruesome fighting. Now I wait for the second part, where he tells the story from the Japanese point o view. Should be very interesting, especially after seeing the American version.

I will try and see the Prestige soon.

I pretty much think the same thing. Although, Saw II sucked because it was a bunch of brainless idiots running about a house and the ending was predictable due to the fact that they hinted at Amanda (was that her name) having already been in a Jigsaw trap.
I was happy to see that they'd be bringing back the more serebral elements from Saw that made it a truly scary and totally unexpected movie. So Saw III looks promising.

Edit: And, for the record, Snakes on a Plane is the best movie.

I did see Saw II then (I hadn't last post I made in this thread). Someone gave me a copy. It definately wasn't as good as the first one, but I really love the concept of the movies so I still enjoyed it.

I'd like to see the third one now, but I highly doubt I'll see it in theaters.
