Way back in 03, where the greys ran with a sense of glory and passion, arose times of fun and joy with units that were never to be dropped again.

Back when the Scout and L-ward had 2 drops each, when the world sighed deeply when a game was one, before the chess ranked system, heck even before the mud golem. The game was perfectly balanced, and the fun had begun, yet the invasion of the golems soon came to pass...and the TAO which was loved for the first few weeks, very slowly changed to darkness...

I said I would be quitting after the leg vs rev tourny was over, i made a promise to finsh it with omega and i'm not breaking it.

You know, why don't you try getting an actual life instead of making the internet your home, you'd find that a little more exercise in your legs instead of those greesy fingers of yours might do your body good, but then again i'm talking to someone who makes his life on cyberspace so maybe thats beyond your ability to comprehend, just a suggestion though.

Well, as i said earlier, i am out of here. The reasons are many, and some of you will know some of them. I will not go ito them, as those who know the situation would just feel insulted once again.
I will check my PM's here, as well as my emails for those of you receiving support for me. I will fullfill all current obligations to those members i have made agreements with. All gold accounts except my personal ones will remain until the end of their agreed upon time.
Mine are already cancelled. i will not be posting in the forums anymore, but will be here to check PM's to see if there are problems with those accounts.

It's true you haven't made grand announcments of how "great of a buddy" you are, but you often like to shove in your knowledge of how the servers and forums work and turn them into flaming sessions where everyone praises you for making some newbie feel real stupid, or make threads on WHAT the banner sizes SHOULD be, and just because people are lineant, gives YOU NO right to USE YOUR NEG REP ABILITIES, in order to achieve results. When you go on a rant about the "good old days", it is heavily implied that you were around during the good old days, as opposed to all the newer players. The same thing is impled when you talk about how much it sucks now as opposed to then

I'm not going to get in the middle of you two. This reply does not support Jeffery directly, but happens to make an independantly similar (and hopefully nicer) response to the original post in this thread.

Back in '03 greys did run with a sense of "glory and passion". By stating that how you did, it makes it sound like those same types of greys aren't around today. We are. I am. Indirectly disavowing that is somewhat insulting, and does in fact bring out a rather arrogant side of you. If nothing more, it shoes how out of touch you truly are with the majority of players of this game.

You speak of this time before the chess ranking system as if it was a good thing. I disagree. I personally thought the old system that just stated wins, losses, and draws was miserable. Every loss was a permanent scar on your account, and the people who's stats looked the best (who had the most wins), happened to be those who had been playing the longest, regardless of skill. Slaughtering a n00b got the exact same increase in stats as a win in an intense match with the best of players.

Yes unit-stats were changed a bit - but this was to ballance the game. You simply didn't like the change accompanied by the restriction, and didn't quite see the value behind the changes that were made, it seems. This is essentially the equal but opposite reasoning as to why people loved "having 7 dragons" on that artifice server.

Yes, in the end, this does seem to be just another thread which flaunts your older status in this game. I too am an older player, as are many others. However, what I personally like about their input on these forums, is how they show us who they truly are. I'd much rather hear about Hydrant's life in dance then yet another "I'm a vet" post anyday.

It's the interpersonal connections we make that establish friendship and respect. Neither demand nor expectation can acquire glory.
