Well, I am not from america so I won't be doing anything, but I was just posting to find out what thanksgiving is all about.
Thash you said something about pilgrims and indians? But who here actually knows the history of Thanksgiving and would care to explain it to me?
The only thing I know is that a turkey is the traditional meal for it :(

Rep to anyone who tells me first... but you may have to wait, I cant just yet.

Thanksgiving is the day the first people in America (the indians) made peace with the pilgrams(english people looking for new land) by having a big feast.
They had foods somewhat like that of which we eat on thanksgiving now.
Such as, turkey, corn, potatoes, and cranberry sauce.(I think)
present day thankgiving is when everyone in your family try to meat up for a dinner or luch. They talk and eat and eat and eat! Until they can't eat anymore. Then they give thanks for being together on that one special day!

We are having our family over to our house. Most likely will be eating turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, sweet potatoes, cranberries, and many other things that don't come to mind right now. After that we will most likely play some card games, (poker I'm hoping) as we are a big card-playing family.

EDIT- btw, you all, assuming you are here sometime, will most likely see me here for a while. So if your not to busy, I'd love for you to drop by Great Lakes and have a friendly battle with me, at least, until our family arrives and I am done helping set up for the dinner.

You know...I'm thinking of restarting this whole "turkey" on Thanksgiving BS, it needs to end...Instead, Thanksgiving in my book is officailly declared as "Ham Day".

Thanksgiving is the day the first people in America (the indians) made peace with the pilgrams(english people looking for new land) by having a big feast.

The peace feast preceeding the next few hundred years of oppression, of course.

Land? They don't need land! Reservations are a great idea.
