Edited- I thought well instead of having you strong attacking knight, maybe something with less blocking but higher armor? maybe to act as a shield for your casters, and scouts.

The Doom Guard reigns in the depth of Hell, gaurding, ruling the underworld. His overwelming Strength and Power makes even the noblest of knights fall in terror. With thier Fire-like sword and their massive size the Doom Guard can easily take out his victims.

[Picture discription] (Large, Red(Unit), Heavily armored at the shoulder, Sword looks as though on fire, Horns are on his head.)

I compared stats to a knight for those how might no see a difference.
[Stats]
Hit Points-45 (Knight-50)
Power-15 (knight-22)
Armor-35 (knight-25)
Movement-3 (Knight-3)
Recovery Time-2(Knight-1)
Range-1 (Knight-1)
60% Blocking (30% sides) (Knight 80%,40%)

Attacks like a knight
A=Attacking range
Y=Unit
XXAXXX
XAYAXX
XXAXXX

Special
Burning Sword- If hit by the flaming sword of the Doom Gaurd, Take 2 points of damage per turn (3turns max, or until dead) do to burn.

Why have you made a new thread for the same unit?:confused: You can just go and edit your existing unit. Don't go making new threads for the same unit (even if it has been edited) as long as you are still able to post in the older thread, or can provide a good reason for the new thread. In this case I see no logical reason. Just please don't do it again.

I will look back over the unit in a minute.

EDIT- I have looked back over the unit and all I can say is that in almost every aspect it is overpowered. A few things reduce the amount of how overpowering it is, but come nowhere close to balancing it out. 4 turn wait is too much, especially for a unit that has such a low blocking% and armor. Please keep working on this unit and reduce the stats.

And remember, DO NOT make another thread after you have edited this unit. Just use the edit button. That is why it is there.

Well, that is a pretty valid point. I apolagize to you. Still, though, your unit is overpowered.

How about this then?

Nevermind... To me it seems as though its too much like a typical melee unit. Dont worry about posting unless you think its a good idea.

Now it is, better, but far from "nice unit". A nice unit will develop over time. The 4 movement is probably too high right now. The armor is most likely too low. My advice to you, take a look at some certified units, to get a better understanging of what is needed.

EDIT- I began typing this before you had poted your second post, in a row. Please, use the edit button. You do not need to type the stats all over again, just click the edit button, go in and make changes, and make sure you point out what has been edited. It is also not good to double post. That is what edit is there for, so please use it.

You're absolutely right. Armor is too low. It will barely do anything. Take a look at the scout for example. Armor 8 does basically nothing. 10 is not much better. Movement should be lowered a bit as well.

I'm just going to drop this unit
sorry and thanks

Why drop it? If your not willing to stick with it then why make one? Nobody has told you that you have no chance and that you suck at making units, so I see no logical reason to just "give up". I would like to see you continue to make an attempt at making this a good unit, but if you wish to stop, I will resect your wishes.

but don't just give up on it

I dont really want to just give up on it, but It's hard to make a melee unit thats good, but different than a knight because no matter what people are going to be like "Its easy to change a knights stats around and rename it" "or this is too overpowered" or whatever smart remark people have to say.

Besides I've been thinking of something a little different, I just want to make sure it fits your 'characteristics' first

I edited the DoomGaurd if you want too look over it again.

The sad truth is that you cannot really make a melee unit without altering stats, so why not make a mage or a ward? If you want tips on how to balance a unit pretty well, check out the links below my banner. Those should help a bit.

I simply tried making a melee unit, 1 because not many people even tried to make a melee unit and I just wanted to make something people seen enough of. 2 it just popped in my head.
