Background:
This strange mystic plays with the fortunes of warriors using a cursed deck of cards.

Health: 35
Armour: 0
Power: N/A
Range: 3 (front, back, sides), 2 (diagonal)
Blocking: 30%
Movement: 4
Recovery: 1 (move), 2 (attack), 3 (both)

Attack:
In the attack mode, you can choose one unit in this range:

X = Target X = Fortune Teller

Once you have selected your unit, a deck of cards will appear and start shuffling. You have a 5 second time limit to choose a card. If you don't pull in the 5 seconds, you will have one picked for you.

When the card has been pulled out, you shall see it coloured. Depending on the colour, this card will alter the selected unit's fortune.

Card Key:
Red = Wound: Unit loses 10 HP.
Orange = Graze: Unit loses 5 HP.
Yellow = Disarm: Unit unable to attack for 2 turns.
Green = Undefend: Unit loses armour for 2 turns.
Blue = Exhaust: Unit needs 2 recovery.
White = Heal: Unit gains 7 HP.
Purple = Reflex: Unit gains 60 % blocking.
Brown = Release: Unit remains same.

Special:
Once a game, the Fortune Teller can use a Crystal Ball. To to this, you must click and hold the sqaure the Fortune Teller is on until the light goes away. The next turn, the strongest unit (unit with most HP) on the opposing army will be struck be lightning, causing 18 damage.

This concludes my first unit in CAU. Any questions or advice?

The unit is too random for it to be worth using. Even though 5 of the 8 effects are negative you are still unable to choose which one to use, not to mention that none of the effects are that useful when you consider how weak the Fortune Teller is. This kind of luck isn't a tactic.

Uh, your code thing is exactly the same as my diagram. They both show that the range is 3 or 2 diagonally.

Also, I was very specific of limiting the amount of effects and how powerful they are. I think the attack is pretty balanced.

I guess the health is a bit low. Increased by 7. :)

Uh, your code thing is exactly the same as my diagram. They both show that the range is 3 or 2 diagonally.Yours doesn't show a range of 3 to the sides, only the front, back, and diagonals

I fail to see what makes it so random. There isn't too many card effects.

There are eight different choices meaning a 12.5% chance of each thing happening. YOu can't rely on it to do anything you want and anything it does is too weak to waste a turn randomly on.

You are basically saying it isn't worth taking a turn because of the luck factor. The same could be said about blocking. You will either hit or be blocked. Same with these cards: get a good one, or a bad one.

You could say that but you also forgot the fact that most of the effects aren't worth using (Blue doesn't even make sense). Use a turn to maybe do a whole 10 damage to a unit, maybe do what a wisp does without the damage, maybe get rid of armor when only 7 units have armor, maybe accidentily heal your opponent, maybe DO NOTHING and waste a turn. The only useful sounding one is blue, but it's not explained well.

I like it. Could use a better name.

Underpowered... the effects arent good enough. Honestly I would enjoy having the random luck effect. Dont know exactly how many people would actually make good use of this unit but i like it either way.

How about this:
Blue:Exaust-Units needs 2 recovery
Red:Wound-Unit loses 15HP
Green:Paralyze-Unit is paralyzed (Focus)
White:Heal-Heals unit 10HP
Brown:Barrier-Unit gains Barrier (Focus)
Black:Death-Unit is destroyed

????????????

I think some people wouldnt like this unit because it can make or break your tactics. Well i say, Deal with it. I don't but i think this is a good character. But put the health at 30, no blocking or very little, and maybe like a 2-3 recovery.

thats just what i think though

i like the unit it seems unique.. i agree somehow there should be less luck in it but other then that nice job.

Not a bad idea, but I think I like CP's suggested range better than the one shown. This unit's ability is cool because it reminds me of Logos' Russian Roulettte in FFX-2.

this thing is full of pointless moves. 10 damage isnt wortha turn. use a scout.
blue is okay but many are bad for you or dont even do anything. the luck factor you are adding would be horrible, if anyone would use such a pointless unit. no one liked any of the other reandom effect units, the one cross put isn the only one. the purple one is severely overpowered or underpowered depending on if you are targetin yourself or the enemy.

ok i c cuathons point to much luck involved so i agree not a very good unit.
