Blue is when somebody with rep significantly lower than yours tries to neg you. Jeffery must be loaded with those. red is when somebody negs you. A neg is worth half of the amount that a person could pos you. A green box is a pos rep. Rep whores are people that shamelessly try to gain them, such as t3k and Snork. They'll just flat out ask for rep with perhaps a promise to return the favor. Snork keeps his promises. I don't know about t3km4n.

Reputation, in all, is a lot like popularity in High School. Except that cheerleaders aren't around to take it away from you, I guess.

The best way to avoid red rep is to read the stickies and follow the rules in them.
For example, had you done that, you would not have made this thread.
Read some of them to find out why.

That's actually not completly true. Once you get to a rather high amount of rep, 11 or so boxes, people with low rep, when they pos you, don't do anything. So pos's can be blue, too.

Yes, low reps normally below 50 is so reputation. Yours would give me/anyone else about 7 points or so. :)

Rep is given by others when you make a good post. However, negs are given when you make a bad post.

Rep = good (plus points)

Neg = bad (minus points)

Blue = the person tried to either rep/neg you but they didn't have enough rep to do so meaning that you did not lose/gain any rep points.
