These massive spear throwers were manned by knights. Being able to shoot through multiple people, these engines were mainly used to hit back row units. The downside was that they were so big that friendly units had to go around them, that and that they are slower than any other type of unit out there.
Description: looks like a giant cross bow on ground with flags hanging from it the color of the team.
Name: Scorpian
HP: 40
Power: 28
Range: 5, see special
Armor: 10
Block: 0
Movement: 2
Wait: 3 turns
Other: Doesn't move aside for friendly units
Special: The spear is affected by LOS, and when it hits a unit it goes one square less, because it passed through the unit dealing the amount of damage to the unit then moving on. So if it hit a knight right in front of it the spear would only go four squares. If it hit two units it would only go three squares. If it hit three units it would stop at that last unit. If one unit blocks it it would stop there doing no damage to any unit. Wards always block it.

lol i like this unit its good, but you should be able to have the knight operating it from the set up bit

Powerful, it isnt overpowered though costing a knight and the 3 turn wait.
Although I must say I wouldnt have a unit costing me a knight. Even if its temperary (sp?). Its a good idea but as a unit is basically a cross betwen a GA and BS I think.

Still would sacrife a unit, and you can get a GA to do a similar job without such a cost.

This unit is pretty good. If anything though i think it should be able to shoot a little longer than 4 spaces. i mean it should shoot probably a little less than a scout. i think a similar maximum range of the golem ambusher would be fitting here. maybe 5 spaces? thats just my oppinion. and just like Strong hold said, i wouldnt sacrafice a unit to use that. becuz if you have a dragon on the feild its like having only 8 units at the end of the game and then when the seige machine gets destroyed you only have 8 units left again. so basically you are starting the game with one less unit.

What was the game that called the Ballista a "Scorpion"? (which you misspelled by the way). Oh, yeah, that was Age of Empires. Real time strategy is a little bit different from TAO, eh? I've always found that TAO could be better likened to a glorified game of chess, though you could find incompetent opponents more easily in TAO because the newbies get giddy about the dragons.
Anyways, a whole slew of these have already been made, and the idea of putting siege weapons on such small battlefields without fortifications has generally been looked down upon. If it were to be added in a realistic way, then many mechanics of the game would need to be changed. Look up "Ballista" and "Siege" to find out more, if you will, because I really don't want to shove the history of CAU into a single post. :*pardon: :smartass:
Someone really needs to sticky a list of things that have been done six or seven times around here. It wouldn't advertise the need so search for similar units, but it just happens too much regardless. It would be annoying to keep up with it, though. Maybe the CAU committee could take on a new job?
Its frustrating when you think that you've thought up something new and find out you hadn't, isn't it? Sorry if I'm really bursting your bubble.
