View Full Version : Falcon
Falcon (20 hp)
Armour: 40
Blocking: 60
Recovery: 1
Movement: 4
Power: 12
Teleport
Attack: Range 1, Single Target
Attack is unaffected by armour. Falcon looks the same no matter what direction it is facing (i.e. opponent can't tell which direction it is facing).
Attacked unit loses 1 movement and 5 attack power (focus)
Special attack: All units within a range of 1 permanently lose 1 movement and 7 attack power. Falcon dies. Can be used at any time.

Hm.....not bad. Balanced, too.

Hmm, hasn't this been done.
Has it? There is nothing in the game that reduces movement or attack power, and no unit that can have a direction appears directionless. I haven't search for those features, but I haven't seen anything like it in the threads I've visited. The 4-movement teleport is common, but that shouldn't be important.

armor 40? hp 20???
I dunno... =/
It would be pretty powerful stoned, and poison would kill it pretty fast. Other than that, 20 hp 40 armour is about equivalent to 35 hp 0 armour (except that a cleric would help much more). If I reduce the armour to 30, a lightning ward will be able to kill it instantly, but it won't be so super stoned (abotu 50 hp equivaletn stoned).

Oh, please. Other people in CAU have done things that reduce movement or attack power. Authors have made units with not only disguised directions, but also disgused locations. Dragon Speaker Mages reduce attack power, too.
Your unit isn't good because nobody wants a knight that can't move. Nearly any kind of permenant penalty to movement would be overpowered. The loss of attack power and a heal's worth of hp is just a slap in the face.

Have you visited many threads even? Falcons and other birds certainly aren't original and don't belong on battlefields. The numbers are different, yours actually has blocking, but there have been enough units with similar abilities.
Movement loss isn't overpowered in a suicide attack - its' better than losing the unit (assassin). Birds in combat will attack the enemy's face, blinding them, and the blocking represents dodging (the direction hiding being a substitute for ward-like blocking).
Oh well.

*CLAP,CLAP,CLAP* finaly a noob that has posted a decent unit!
looks like you did your homework scb.I especialy like the 40 armor 20 hp addition.Even more shocking is thisFalcon looks the same no matter what direction it is facing not too many hombres have incorparated this idea into their units, very few believe me.I have been on this forum long enough to make that statement.
Once again great unit......but think this my padawan, if you get 1st turn, fly in your falcon, and then use its SPECIAL attack you could have pretty much HANDICAPPED an opponents knights for the whole game.
a knight with 2 movement and 15 power? OOOOOOWCH!
plus the whole bird thing i am not too keen on (personal opinion)
If you get it right between a bunch. For one knight, idont' think the sacrifice is worth it.
Shoudl I place a limit of being under 15 health or something?
