It has roots in ancient paganism, which is basically sex/female-worship, which is what Dan Brown would have you believe the Hebrews did before Constantine. The Pentagram is actually the pattern that the ancient stargazers traced Venus going through the horizon in, surrounded by a circle to represent the heavens. All the stuff about sacrificing live human babies was just the natural response to the church associating traditional pagan symbols with Satan--everyone who didn't like Christians for some reason picked Paganism up.

It might be that the Knights Templar secret society was actually a modern group of Paganists, though. I didn't research that too much. The scary part is the amount of Pagan influence is in the average person's "sex-life" by now.

wicca isn't about sex worship though...it is a part of it however...here's how...

wiccans believe two ways...either "god" is female...or "god" is both male and female...

through sex men can briefly become one with the female half thus better understanding "god" as it is both male and female...as i believe...

also the knights templar if i remember correctly were protecting a previous version of the bible...

I don't know too much about it, but this is rooted in archeological evidence, and not just heresay by a Wiccan author who wants to give his craft credibility.

If I were Satan, I'd totally get some plastic surgery. I mean, first of all, those horns have got to be a pain in the ass. In addition to being bulky and a bit unattractive, I bet they make it hard to sleep at night. Just think of how many pillows he's gotta tear up on a given night. Satan is the one who told us to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, causing the fall from Eden. This is often interpreted as creation of self conciousness and awareness of morality. It is because of Satan that we now have what seperates us from animals.

And why would you want to worship God anyway? All he does (besides the creation of everything, which i think is just His side of the story) is send down commandments and rules telling us how to act and how to be 'good' (which is defined by Him and we have no say in it). Satan on the other hand encourages you to follow your desires and define your own set of rules. God grants us free will but then makes rules for us to follow..... who does that kind of thing?
