unactivated assassin special ability

i just had a game wer my assassin had 3 hp. i tried to use its sepcial ability but dint work. im sure it was 3. is it because i healed her or something? coz ive been using my assassin alot of times n dis s the first tym it happened. does anyone hav any explanation??
