Not really. I literally pulled the plug on my internet, then reconnected it to my computer after two seconds, and didn't get d/ced.

Am I just really lucky? I can repeat the results indefinitely apparently. I seem to recall a time when TAO automatically kicked your account if your computer stopped responding

I can do that to, it's something to do with your internet.

So you just pulled your plug while the computer power was on and the internet was online and your computer returned to its normal state when you plug it back in?

High speed modems generally have "keep-alive" routines to prevent the user from noticing a brief disconnect. These also prevent transfers from being aborted, etc.
