Allright....mens razor wars are getting a tad out of hand.

Frist we ahd mach 3..then mach 3 turbo..then the schick quattro....then the mach 3 pulsar thing...

now we have the "Fusion"

which, for the record, is FIVE freakin blades and 2 lubricating strips.

Why, why why? Why not start with FOURTY blades, so you can shave your entire face with only one swipe, and be done with it?

What is the problem with 2 blades? heck, 3 is more than sufficient. My Venus is lovely. Four blades is pushing it. FIVE blades? Sheesh. How wide is the bluddy thing?

yea, a face needs tenderness and cleaner shave sure...but my legs dont? armpits meh, no biggie there. one razor is sufficient for those (though annoying, id rather have 2 or 3 heh)
other body parts become increasingly more complex to shave with more razors

Having four sisters, I'm pretty sure there a razors for females that have more than one blade.

In fact, I'm positive there are.

sayter

not the shave itself...I think its the commercialist aspect of it that bothers me. nothin wrong with 3 razors. 4 was simply one upsmanship (the quattro is ginormous, my bf has one. its like a helipad)....5 is just further waste of packaging.

If you want a cleaner shave, buy a straight razor :) Well, I take that back, since no chance in hell would I use one on my legs...and im sure a face is no less risky :)

Why take a GRADUAL step...if you are going to end up eventualyl hittign 28 razors in one ANYWAY, why not just START at 28.

What, are you losers still stuck in the ancient past of "shaving" your excess and unwanted hair? This is the 21st century people, there is a better way! (I was gonna keep this on the down-low as my invention is in production. However, I'll tell you as long as you promise not to spread the word on this yet.)

I have invented the ultimate in hair-removal technology. Most razors clip the hair off at the skin's surface, only to have it grow back again. Talk about a waste of time! My new SandClean 2000 is actually a tiny belt sander made for your face (or legs or whatever). The rotary action of the sander, combined with a changeable sanding belt actually gets BELOW THE SKIN where the hair follicles reside. Once the outer layer of skin is sanded off, the SandClean 2000 actually ABRADES THE HAIR FOLLICLES AWAY! Talk about easy and thorough! With my new SandClean 2000 technology, you only have to "shave" once every 8 to 12 months.

Think of the time and hassle you will save! What will you do with the extra time in your day? What will you do with the extra money you save from not buying replacement razors all the time? This, truly, is the offer of a lifetime! Buy yours today!

Disclaimer: The SandClean 2000 may cause some initial pain and discomfort. It typically takes 4-6 weeks for enough skin to grow back on your face to stop frequent bleeding and leaking of pus, and an additional 6-8 months before the scarring is reduced to manageable levels. We at SandClean 2000 recommend that, in the meantime, you wrap your face in sterile gauze to prevent infection and to avoid frightening children or heart patients. We additionally recommend that this procedure not be performed on anyone with a history of blackouts, diabetes, seizures, gout, pregnancy, hammer toes, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, high or low cholesterol, nicotine or caffeine intake, racing thoughts, cat lovers, peanut allergies, eczema, skin or liver cancers, lazy eye, appendicitis, gastro-esophogeal spasms, bad haircuts, or a non-disfigured face.

From The Onion almost exactly a year ago.
http://www.theonion.com/content/node/33930

SNL did a fake commercial back in the seventies for a 3-blade razor with the catch-phrase, "Because you'll buy anything."

In 2000, they did a commercial with Will Ferrel for the Platinium Mach 14 (a 14 blade razor. http://snl.jt.org/arc/com/Platinum%20Mach%2014.jpg

Let's just get a huge machine bristling with blades, that you go inside of entirely. It then proceeds to use infrared sensors on the tips of each blade to shave your entire body 1/1000000th of an inch from your skin (don't flinch)

I think eventually everyone will be able to get a home laser hair removal system....5 years is my predicition.

Imagine no more shaving at all!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOT!

Speaking of women's shavers...I ran out of shaving cream one day and had to shave. I didn't have time to go get any shaving cream so my wife told me to use the women shaver(Schick Intuition) that we had just got in the mail since it has shaving cream built into the shaver(it was a sample). I got to say it was great! The handle was rather large, but around the blades was what replaced the shaving cream - reminded me of stick deodrant. It was alot less time consuming to use this than my usual lather and then shave techinic that I am sure we all are so accustomed to using day in and day out.
I told her that it worked really well and she was impressed to....

She got me one for Christmas...lol

Failsafe shaving method (though MAYBE dangerous)

Bathtub + Me + Toaster plugged in = Zaap = No hair , again, ever.

Though I wont attempt it until the math is of course verified. OTherwise the hair will be there still. Can't have that.

for an everyday shave, electric shave is not good. you'll hack the crap out of your face. the main problem is sharpness of the blades. just like with any other form of shaving, you have to make sure the blades stay sharp to ensure that you cut the hair, not pull it out of your skin. and yes, just like with any other form of 'blade' (razor, sword, knife, ect.) it begins to go dull after the first use. if you want to use one on a regular basis, you'd have to replace the blades about once a week, just like you change your razor after only a few uses. i dont know if you checked the price of replacement blades for 'lectric shavers, but they are costly.

I have never used an electric razor that I liked. The shave is just not close enough. It seems that by dinner time it will look as though as if you haven't shaved.

Another electric device my wife had that took hair out was an Epilady. It was a thing that pulled hair out with little coils. She used it once and threw it in the trash...it hurt like hell she said. She liken it to some medival torture device.

Have to disagree, I use a nice Panasonic model and it does me a world of good, and 18 months on the original blades. Easier, faster, and smoother cutting.

and yes, I do have a realm of comparison since I take a normal razor with my on trips (about one out of every 10 days average), though admittedly I just have a simple quatro ;) and not some 5 bladed razor :p

Electric razors are so much better. I'd take my Norelco over a standard razor any day. 5 blades is rediculous. Heck, I cut my face up when i tried the 4 bladed razor. Not fun. So i recomend you go out and buy yourself a good electric razor.

Electric razors tear up my neck. I used to use one but stopped. Shaving cream and razor is what I use now, the four blade one,( I can't keep the names straight anymore) but I hate it. WHen I'm out of blades I'm going back to the mach3.

It tore up my skin and actually caused me to break out.

I guess the logic is when you shave, the hair just grows back longer.

So if you shave less, hair grows less.

I only shave when I go out or something important, like talking to the cty Representative, otherwise it's just a waste of time. I use a three-blade razor with no gel strips or anything, and I think that's too much.

Tell me guys, whatever happened to simply using a blade edge? Afraid of cutting yourself? Can't you still cut yourself on a multi-blade razor anyway?
