View Full Version : Beast Mech

Hellblazer

Appearance: The Beast Mech is a hefty, rather round machine with two large legs. Young girls from Anatiola's outer islands would be taught to ride and control these beastly machines and fight with them to protect their villages. The girls that rode them would wear blue unitards.

Health: 50
Attack: 18
Armor: 30
Blocking: 34% (17%)
Movement: 4
Attack Range: 1

Special: Hailfire
Hailfire is activated by clicking and holding on the Beast Mech. This attack can only be activated after the Beast Mech has been attacked twice.
Once activated, this attack allows the Beast Mech to send a hail of missiles to 18 unoccupied spaces anywhere on the board. The rresult is a fog of smoke arising wherever the missiles hit to its surrounding spaces (in the formation of a pyromancer's attack). This smoke reduces visiblity, so LoS and ranged attacks have a 50% chance (blocking not incorporated into that chance) of hitting units in the smoke. All units shrouded in smokehave 2/3 of their blocking and 2/3 of their movement. The units in the smoke also have a 50% chance of hitting outside units.
The smoke remains on the board for 5 of your turns. After 3 turns, the units in the smoke regain vision and can move out of the smoke. Once a unit is out of the smoke or the smoke clears, all units regain their stats. This special can only be used twice per game.

If this is a bit confusing, just say so.

You say the units have movement in the smoke, then you say they can only move out of the smoke after three turns. Which is it?
It had better be the first one, since otherwise you can freeze all your opponent's units. However, 18 spaces is too much - do you mean 8? I would suggest something like four, or even one.
Or are the 18 spaces in a set pattern?

Yeah....I meant the first one. However, after three turns the unit can move out of the smoke. During the first three, they can move around in the smoke.
As for the 18 spaces, those are sleceted anywhere on the board. It's not a range.

Cool unit one question. What if the spaces connect. Can a unit move from one radius to another?

I love the unit man. Its very cool, and if any units were added to the game, it would add a twist.

take a bit of armor and health (maybe 5 or 10) and there's a good unit, but 50 hp, and 30 armor? Too much

Can units that are outside the smoke... say a night move into the smoke at any time but then have the 3 turn added after entering the smoke, and if so what happens if all the other units are on there last turn in the smoke and will soon move out. Wouldn’t that mean that the night would be stuck in the smoke even after the smoke has left the board entirely?

Good concept but put a little more thought into these things first please

Not to be defensive, but you said in the Giant Ball of Dooom that it was fine with 90 helath and 50 armor.

And pure_caffeine: this isn't a necroed thread. It's my latest unit. If he replied to something like the Bone Summoner, then you can flame him.

IThis is a bit confusing. The attack is cool, but will it really have any effect? Scouts can walk around the mist, pyros and DMW's can simply attack the mist. And no one is going to be stupid enough to walk into mist that's already there, just to degrade their strength. Unless they're a n00b. And no one likes fighting n00bz, anyway.
Thanks for trying.

very decent unit and i might use it after a while...it also gives the underdawg a better chance at a come from behind victory if used correctly
